Well, thanks to you all and many, many hours of planning, re-planning, hiding, wrapping, unwrapping, explaining and crying we are about to hit the road for our first ever trip as DVC members.

Some of you may recall this thread from last Christmas: The ultimate Christmas Present...

And this one which describes the big event: It's official

You folks have made this soooo easy and soooo pleasant. One member even gave me their Litho so I could get it framed for Christmas morning. This is by far one of the nicest communities I have ever been a member of.

We are driving down today for 1 night at CBR and then 8 nights in a 2BR at OKW. This has been a long time coming and the fact that it's finally here is almost unbelievable.

I can't thank you all enough!

I just became a DVC member myself and just read through you're treads. Wow, what a wonderful story.

Hi All. Kids are finally asleep and I'm enjoying the quiet at Caribbean Beach. How will I top this? Not sure but I am a master at surprise. In fact, when we get home she will be walking into a new dining room set that she knows nothing about. She HATES the one we have now. It used to belong to the actor Clifton Web and it's solid cherry and in heavy need of repair. I don't want to get rid of it (nor have I) for the last 12 years because of the lineage.

Anyway, you bring up a good point. One year I let her stay mad at me (and I do mean mad) because i refused to go to Chicago for Christmas to see family. I had her family come down and sit around the tree then I woke her up Christmas morning and said "Come see what Santa brought you!" to which she retorted "What are you? 3?" She came out, rubbed her eyes and started crying, she was so happy.

This year, I'm thinking nothing, that'll be a surprise she won't expect...
