Does anyone know what Targets policy is in regards to the amount of mfr coupons you can use for 1 item....More specifically..if I have 10 coupons for Electrosol (sp?) , can I go in and buy 10 and use all of the coupons at once? Or do I have to use 1 per transaction?:confused3 I know that you can only use 1 Target coupon per transaction, but I'm not sure about mfr?...

I think it depends on the Target. I usually don't abuse the coupons and buy two at a time. A cashier had to call a manager over once ($1.00 candy bars which made them like .19). The cashier asked if they were allowed to take them and she said only two. She said they were trying to quit taking web coupons because of people abusing the situation. I guess one lady tried to buy 20 candy bars.

these are not web coupons, but actual ones from Sundays paper..should i still only do two at a time?

I did two at a time.

That is a great coupon--with tax my two boxes of diswasher det. was 1.17 or something like that.

I think the policy may vary from store to store. Our local Targets do not put a limit on the # of coupons you can use in one transaction. If you have 10 coupons (even for the same item) and you are buying 10 of that item, they will let you do that. Ours also allows you to combine a manufacturer coupon w/ one of their web coupons for the same product (but only one of each for each item). I find it to be more irritating to the cashier to have to do multiple transactions just because of the coupons. but that's just my opinion. HTH. :goodvibes

My local Target would not accept 2 coupons even if I was buying 2 of the item, so I contacted Target Customer Relations. This is their response:

"Dear Robyn,

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at Target, and
we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety
of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how
coupons can be redeemed at Target:

-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and
manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the
same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than
the purchase value of the item; in that case, we'll adjust the value of
the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products
not carried in our stores.

All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of
sale.

Have questions or want more information about using coupons at Target?
Check with a Guest Services Team Leader at your local store. You can
also give us a call at (800) 440-0680, or visit us on Target.com. Either
way, we're here to help!

Thanks for shopping with us. We'll see you again soon at Target.

Sincerely,

Ashley

I was in my Target today and had 5 Electrasol coupons....so I bought 5 boxes and did it all in the same transaction. Not a problem.

I do multiple of the same coupons all the time at my Target, and as long as I have the same amount of the item, I've never had a problem.

I've never had a problem with any store accepting multiple man. coupons. Why would they? They will be getting the money back from the manufacturer as well as a small credit for processing.

I have 3 Targets near me. I have no coupon issues at 2 of them, but I do at the 3rd. If I buy 2 of the same item - say Bounty - and I have 2 manufacturers coupons each good off one package of Bounty, they will only accept 1 coupon (I've even discussed this with the Team Leader/Manager). The coupon states one coupon per item purchased, so they will not let me use 2 even if I'm buying 2 items. And they won't let you ring them up in 2 separate transactions either.

Since this happened, I don't go to that Target if I have coupons.

You are absolutely correct, but alot of stores don't take the time to properly instruct their cashiers, and that's where the problems start. Sometimes inexperienced cashiers will interpret the coupons verbage to mean you can only use one coupon per transaction, when in reality it means you can only use one coupon per item purchased (i.e, you can't use five $1 off coupons on one item, but you could use five $1 off coupons if you purchased five of that item).

I'm not arguing in with you but that just doesn't make sense. You are using 1 coupon per purchase if you have 2 coupons and buy 2 of the product. The wording on the coupon is to prohibit people from buying 1 item and trying to use multiple coupons.

What was the manager's explanation?

I recently got into a debate with Meijer. I purchased a Sonic Toothbrush and used a $10.00 off coupon that I received as part of the Bzz program. It wasn't the brush that my DD wanted to I went right back to return it. Meijer doesn't sell the brush that she wanted. The clerk insisted on refunding me the price - the $10.00 coupon. I said fine, but I want the coupon back. She wouldn't do it. The manager went to the register and did find the coupon but refused to give it back to me. So, Meijer refunds me the lesser amount and still gets credit from Philips for the coupon. That just doesn't seem right. I think that I may just call their corporate office today and see what they have to say.

Definitely contact corp. office on this!!! That is coupon fraud on the part of the store. The store has to give you back the price of the item, not the price of the item minus the coupon. If they don't have have or are unwilling to give you back the coupon then they have to give you cash. They will be turning in that coupon for the money from Phillips

What was the manager's explanation?

The manager said that the cashier was right. In fact, she had personally trained the cashier. AFter that explanation, I went to the customer service desk and asked for a number to contact Target headquarters and followed up by email. I posted the response earlier in the thread.

I brought that response to the manager at the store a few days later, but she still wouldn't budge. That's why I go to the other Targets in my area now.

Target's policy is 1 manf and 1 Target coupon per item. You can normally use as many as you'd like, as long as you have the items you are buying of course! LOL. While I may not be the standard coupon shopper I've used in excess of 200 coupons in a single transaction.
