hey guys, if you want to get free prints, target has a coupon in the store at the end of the cashier lanes for 20 free digital prints. the coupon expires on may 15, 2004. There is one on line that is for 25 free prints that expires on the 9th. I've used it and the prints come out pretty good. :D maggie

ps: its for 4x6 prints

roflmao spinning. You are as bad as I am... they finally let me do 4 orders at once! So I haven't gone back again today, I'll go tomorrow. :D maggie

Hi, ya'll. I just popped over from the boards in which I usually lurk. Thought I'd pass along my experience with Target prints. I took my CD of digital prints (from my trip to WDW!!:teeth: ) to have them printed. I was so disappointed! The colors weren't good at all! Very washed out. The next time I was ready to have prints done I uploaded them to Walmart.com. I attached the files, told them how many and what size of each print, and then picked which store I wanted to have the pics sent to! (I could have paid about $1.50 extra to have them sent directly to my house) I was so impressed with the quality. I had one pic from my trip to WDW that I wanted another copy of, and you should see the difference between the Target print and the Walmart print. Anyway, hope you don't mind me adding my .02 cents worth.

I haven't had any problems with the quality of prints from target, but I think all of my targets have gotten new equipment recently too. maggie

Welcome to this board!
What a shame they didn't turn out great. Did you ask to have them done over?
I know at the 2 target's near me they just put in all new Fugi equipment. The one store was having problems with their stuff but they just were in stalled last week I think. One order they printed 3 times! I didn't ask they just did because they were very Red or I should say anything in red really stood out/ over powered the picture but other than that they were great.

I haven't used Walmart in a long time. I had them develope 10 rolls froma Disney trip and the colors were very washed out. But they weren't digital. So I guess a lot depends on who is doing it.

So far with the digital prints I like the Kodak picture maker the best. But I do wonder about how long they will last.

ElizK, I can't believe you just posted that. I was about to ask Spinning and Maggie if they would upload to Walmart and order one of the pictures they had printed at Target just to compare. I am very curious about that. I have never used Target's photo department before for digital. I had some pictures developed because of the coupon. I wanted to order a couple extra prints of one of the pictures for someone for Mother's Day and it was quicker for me to order from Walmart.com. The color and quality is no comparison. I would never have known that if I had not order from Walmart. When I saw the pictures from Target I was very pleased until I compared them with the Walmart pictures. I am going to try some other places with the same picture and compare them. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem. I would love to find out if Spinning and Maggie see a difference cause after reading their comments I am wondering if it's just my Target and possibly old equipment. We have a new Super Target opening nearby soon so maybe I will try that one.

ok, so I was going to order some pictures from walmart just for the comparison... however it was going to cost me more in shipping than the actual pictures. I could just take the cd into walmart instead I think. Anyhow, I'm glad everyone likes their prints from walmart (I have gotten film back from them and it's been fine). I'm just enjoying the free part of the target coupon. Next week I'll trot over to walmart and compare. :D maggie

I can try to up load some pictures and pick them up at Walmart. I need to get some more digital pictures from the field trip last week. I will also have them print out one picture from the bunch of Target pics to compare. Lots of red in a picture seems to be tough I am finding. One day at Disney DH and I both had red shirts on. The outdoor pictures are fine but when using the flash indoors it seems to loose definition. I have had these pictures printed several times, home printer, Ofoto and Target. Target seemed the best but I think it was due to the paper not the actual ink.

Maggie, just choose to pick them up at Walmart then it's free. No shipping charges.

Spinning, the picture that is most obvious in comparison is one with people wearing red shirts. I may just send you and Maggie copies so ya'll can see the difference. I know I am obsessing over this and I never would have known any difference if I hadn't needed extra copies of the picture for Mother's Day.

I wonder if it has something to do with the red? That is where I felt needed to be toned down.

you guys are too funny. Maybe I don't see it because I run most of the digital photos through photoshop first and fix them there. But if it will make everyone happy ( :D ) I will take the cd to walmart today and get them to print out a picture while I pick up the juice boxes for kate's class.... maggie

Ok, I have to share my story. I used Walgreens MANY times at Disney a few weeks ago, and their digital printing was outstanding! I had thought my new $400 digicam just wasn't that great, because the photos I kept getting from Walmart and Sam's were so-so. I have even printed the same photos at Walmart, since returning from my trip, and their is a huge difference. I now know that I will not use Walmart unless an emergency. And, I've heard there is a Walgreens about an hour away from me, so that's where I will be heading!

However, I will try some of these online services too, once I figure out how to download to my computer!

Used Target today for my free prints and I have to say they came out great. However, since I was there I wanted a couple of 5 x 7's done too. Well when I came back she said the machine was broken and couldn't do the enlargements, but instead she did them on the color copier. They were ok, so I won't take them back, however the same print in a 4 x 6 was much better color I think. Anyway, I'm back to Costco and shutterfly, better prices unless you a a free coupon!

now I personally love my walmart and hate walgreens. i've used sam's club and been happy there too. i'll have to try target.

I have to say I am really enjoying this comparison thing. I have two pictures that I am comparing. One thing I have notice a huge difference in is the skin tones. I am still waiting on my order from Ofoto. Haven't uploaded the pics to Shutterfly or Snapfish yet. SamsClub.com was real good. Walmart.com was very good. Wolf.com was not impressive for the price. Kodak.com was far beyond all of them!!! I was totally impressed with them. The girl working at Target told me about Kodak.com. She said that I could upload pics, order them and have them sent there to be picked up. No shipping charges. Well when I checked out I couldn't find an option for that at Kodak.com so I just had them sent to the house. Which was really nice.
