Target.com what happened this year?

Ok now all of my Target.com orders from Thanksgiving are delayed. 3 of 5 items not expected until Jan 7th+. Called customer service and discussed the issue of shopping a month before the holiday and how can this happen, what can be done to fix it. Well my remedy would be for them to match the price in the store (my local stores have them available) They say that can't be done. Why not? (separate entities?) Spoke to the original representative, I could understand her but she couldn't understand me once I got to the issue:confused3. Never had that problem before. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She filled me in about the no price matching at the stores, even though the sale was the 2 day black Friday ad sales that were available in both places and the stores currently have inventory of the items I need. Basically she kept telling me that I could cancel or I could wait for the items to arrive, try telling a 3 year old that Santa is coming 2+weeks late. When she wasn't helping I asked to speak to her supervisor. She asked why, and I told her I needed someone who could do something about the problem. Well suddenly she came up with the idea of a gift card for my trouble, she offered $10 which I figure would cover close to 1/2 of the additional cost of what I needed to get (not for those prices byl repurchasing at Target, but Amazon also) I told her that it would take me at least $20 to be whole, and she put me on hold and came back with $15 which I took. I need to cancel the order now, but want to make sure the gift card is processed first. (I did get an email confirmation for the gift card so I think I am ok) Very annoying when you think you are just about done shopping and then you have to do more when the best sales are over. I am usually so happy with Target Bricks and Mortar, I hope they understand the issues they are causing for their dedicated customers. They have to do better at Target.com.

Their website changed dramatically in the last few months and since then...I have had nothing but issues with it.

It's ridiculous how "un helpful" customer service can be..

I am so sorry this is happening to people. I am curious what did you order? I placed an order on black Friday, but it was for clothing and bedding. I got everything over a week ago.

They really should let you get the items in the store. I would write a letter to corporate if I was you and see if you get any brtter answers.

Leappad/explorer games and Transformers. Worst part about it was I was in Target at midnight to get cell phones that were not available online and probably could have gotten them in the store at that time, but I had already placed the order, and really did not want to wait on another line by the time I was done with electronics. Lesson learned.

It seems like this is happening with a lot of stores this year. I've cancelled online orders with Target, eToys, and Kmart over availability issues/post-holiday shipping estimates and had two other orders (FAO and Lowes) cancelled by the store because the item the web site let me check out with wasn't really available after all. I do the vast majority of my shopping online every year because we live in a small town without much retail, but I've never had issues like this until this year. It seems like in an effort to avoid post-holiday clearance sales many stores didn't stock nearly enough product to meet demand, at least when it comes to the better sale prices and "hot" items. Or maybe with all this recession talk there was a serious mis-estimation of consumer demand as a whole.

Well, I would probably buy the items in the store wrap those for Christmas and then when the exact items arrive in the mail I would take those with the store's receipt and return them..

Customer service has rules they have to follow and all of the arguing in the world and asking to speak to supervisors won't change that. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with Target.

I have a almost the same issue back when they first changed their website. They stated online that my order of like 30 things (all clothing) was mailed. Well it never got here. After 100 phone calls I finall got the issue so what resolved. They were out of all my items exceot 2 and were not refunding me. :confused3 I had to argue and argue to get my money back. They did not aplogize or anything. One ladyoffered me a $15 gift card. Guess what? I never got it. I will never order from them online again. There is no Target near me. So when I need something my sister goes and gets it for me.

I'm with Jama. I'd buy everything now and when the order comes in next month, take it back with the receipt from now. I don't see why it wouldn't work, of course being very careful you are actually buying the exact same thing.....

I'm having a very similar issue. I order 2 bed in a bags for 2 of my nieces on Black Friday. They have been delayed 3 time now. Luckily they are only delayed until the 15. Soon I will have to just go buy them at the store and pay more for the items. I'm annoyed but am going to wait a little longer.

My story with target and their customer service

Bought 2 3DS systems bundled with a 20 piece accessory starter kit for $189.99 each, plus 6% sales tax, free shipping and each came with a $25 gift certificate

Long story short
System problem with the gift cards
9 calls to target
5 calls to my credit card company to dispute and undispute various charges that were appearing on my account

In the end
I was charged $359.90 when order was processed (target insisted it was the correct amount :confused3)
received a $5 egift card on one call for allowing them more time to fix the problem
received 2 credits to my credit card for $23.60 each (crediting the $25 gift cards that were not shipping)
received a $50 egift card for my inconvience (supervisor issued during a 74 min phone call)
and two weeks after what did arrive but the 2 $25 gift cards (which target told me to keep)

OP,
Are they sending you an actual gift card or an egift card.

I received an email saying that a gift card is coming
then received an email that has the gift card codes.

Hoping that if enough people complain enough to the right people that they will get the message and change the rules or find a better way.

I was told an actual gift card that could be used in the store. We will see.

This is something to consider, I wonder it the packaging is ever different?

I was going to suggest this too.

I do about 90% of my Christmas shopping online but I never order from Target. I stop at Target once or twice a week- it's my first choice when I need something. Never a bad experience in the store and never a good experience with Target online.

They did something similiar to me. i ordered toys all on sale and somehow the order did not process at all. Several days later i realized i was not charged, never got a response from my email. I ended up buying from another store.

I would do this also.
