Can anyone tell me if Target has their Christmas Decorations out yet?

Here is the story: When we moved from Germany to Okinawa in June we did not bring any decorations with us! We were only allowed 4500lbs and so we were worried about going over and really not thinking, DH had just returned from Iraq days before the move. All of our stuff is now in storage and we won't see it until 2009! :confused3 Unlike the wonderful decorations sold in Germany there are NONE here in Japan because they do not celebrate Christmas! SO I am left to what is on base and that is not much. I have thought about flying home to buy decorations but @1200 for a ticket that would be crazy so I think I will get a gift card for my Mom and send her shopping, if I could only get a hold of her! I know in the pst target has sold there decorations in themes, how about this year?

TIA
Kelly

I was just in Target. Their holiday decoration area was filled with Halloween and thanksgiving. Once October ends, Christmas begins.

I didn't notice any in Target, but Kohl's had people decorating Christmas trees last week when I was in there.

There is one aisle up at my Target, but the rest probably won't go up until after Halloween. Can you wait until then? You might also keep an eye on their website. It might be on there before it is in the store. Then you can let your mom know what you like. Good luck!

Not at our Targets, but one of our Wal-Marts is packed and rarin' to go

Our Target had alot out.
Even bought the 8 foot Santa for the lawn. :teeth:

Thanks eveyone! I almost bought a ticket for mid-october, glad I didn't. If my mom gets them between now and the beginning of November that should work out. Once she ships them to me I should have them by Thanksgiving.

Good luck. Is there anything special you're looking for? I would be happy to find something and ship it to you. I'm assuming DH is military based on location and picture in siggy. If you want something, say the word.

I would love to send you something as well. Can you PM me your address? I'd love to send you something specific from my hometown of Washington, D.C. that I have sent other people in the past in exchanges that they have loved.

My Target, here in hot 92 degree Florida, has 2 aisles already with Christmas stuff out. They had the wrapping paper aisle with tags and bows, and the outdoor deers and lighted Santas out.

Thanks everyone for the info somedays it is much harder living here than I expected.

WonderfulDreamer2: Yes DH is Air Force and really most days I love our life but there are times when it is trying. Back to Back overseas assignments has proven to be a challenge. Thank you so much for offerring an ornament it is very kind of you, if you wouldn't mind picking one up I would like to pay you for the ornament & shipping. It doesn't matter what it is, something that represents your area or WDW...really I have nothing so anything would be great. I will PM you my address.

JunieJay: Thank you so much for the offer, much appreciated, but I would like to reimburse your costs as well. I will PM you.

Is there a Carrefour in Okinawa or somewhere nearby? The one in Shanghai had some basic decorations and even some Christmas trees when I was there back in Dec. last year.

Yes they are. They have like two complete rows of lights and one row of other stuff.

Can you order from the JC Penny Christmas catalogue? There is a prelighted and decorated pull-up/fold down tree that would be great for someone who moves around. It is only $149 and looks nice.

You can also order from Target.com. Or do they not ship to military addresses?

Nope no Carrefour on Okinawa, I wish, we loved in when we were in Europe! I think there is on in Seoul I will have my DH check, he is there for work now.

Both will ship to Military Addresses overseas (APO's) depending on the size of the item. I will check out JCPenny, thanks!

ALso with Target they don't always have everything on the website and even then sometimes they won't ship smaller items.

JCPenny is great although I have bought the tree yet so I am not totally sure they will ship it here but I am going to try, I am still trying to decide which tree to get...we actually saw a Pre decorated tree last year and DD wanted it but we didn't buy it. It just seems so generic yet really a wise buy given our situation.

I was also looking at outside decorations, has anybody seen one of these?http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.aspx?DeptID=25439&CatID=40365&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=0f7f967&Dep=Housewares&Pcat=More+Outdoor+Lights&Cat=More+Outdoor+Lights&RefPageName=CategoryAll.aspx&RefDeptID=25439&RefCatID=40075&cmAMS_T=U3&cmAMS_C=C1&mscssid=6975f183a6ae74ca592d6a5b4c88d1f3fxMnVNoVza3oxMnVNoVza3W200B6F8C18D2F7E495356532DC3D4D7EAEDD0626808&CmCatId=25439|40071|38723|40075 ..okay I imagine the link won't work it is for the Mickey and Friends Holographic Lighted Yard Art

Carrefour? Wow! There was a Carrefour here in NJ years ago (about 15 years ago) and I loved it!

We moved away, and when we returned 4 years later, it was closed up.

I loved that store!

One of our Targets had disney, Seseme street, bratz, Ruldolph, Star wars, Vikings football, and Nascar. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

If I knew what kind of things you liked. I could send you some of my stuff I bought on clearence last year. According to my Dh we have an over abundance of Christmas decorations.

Let me know.

At my local Target, there is one aisle dedicated to Christmas decorations. The rest of aisles in that area are focused mainly on Halloween.
