FWIW I used a Target gift card I picked up for a discount a couple weeks ago and still snagged the additional 5% RedCard discount. As long as part of my charge went on the RedCard, the additional 5% was deducted from the entire amount!

This was online right? I've always had it work online, even when I use a gift card for the entire purchase amount. You put in to use the Redcard, then hit the back button and put in your gift card(s). Should work online! Won't work in store though.

I went kinda crazy with this yesterday - bought my husband some stuff for Christmas, finished my charity christmas shopping (we "adopt" kids in foster care every year in our office), bought myself some new socks and undies. Saved over $30.

Online yes. The checkout had changed a bit though (at least in Chrome). I mentioned it because I had completely forgotten I could finagle that extra 5%, been too long since I bought from Target online!
