Taping of Christmas Day Parade

Do they announce ahead of time when the taping will be? I'm assuming the crowds are horrific. Do they ever tape on party days? Any patterns on weekday vs weekend taping?

It was announced a few weeks before last year. Ended up being smack in our dates in November the crowds did suck and with the party schedules we ended up not being at MK when and how long we planned. We will never do winter again because of it. It was filmed over the course of a few days.

Usually taping is mid november in anaheim and first week after thanksgiving in WDW. Last year (2015) they swapped and WDW taped in nov. if it's going to be nov this year, it'll come out start of nov.. more likely it was osbourne closing crowds that moved the filming and it will be back to first week of december this year.

Dates can move though, generally they are ready to film before thanksgiving and when the weather is right they do it.
