Taping of Christmas Day Parade

Hi fellow Canadians.
I was wondering if anyone knew when they tape the Parade
they air on Christmas Day.

I would love to plan our trip for then.

Usually the first weekend in December, this year probably 5th and 6th

My friend teaches at a Dance Studio in Leaside (Toronto) and they were in the parade this year. They taped it over two or three days. I'm trying to remember the schedule that she told me. I think they taped the march down Main Street on the 1st Thursday of Dec...then on the Friday they had a rehersal for the Mary Poppins segment...then the Mary Poppins segment was taped on the Saturday. It usually happens that 1st week of Dec.

That said we've booked for Nov 29-Dec 6th and are hoping to see some of the taping.

I know the Disneyland portion of the parade was taped in early to mid November. As soon as the Halloween decorations came down and the Christmas ones went up. I'm not sure about WDW though.

The Christmas Parade is taped over 2 days (Fri. & Sat.) during the first full weekend in December, which would be Dec 5&6 this year. I believe they also might tape Sunday morning as well if there have been any weather issues during the first 2 days. They do the castle show taping on Friday and the parade down Main Street on Saturday. We were there this past December during the parade taping but avoided going to MK during those days. We went on Sunday after the taping and had pretty small crowds all morning until about noon.

From my understanding of the taping itself, it is like just like any TV production where they will do things over and over again to get the right shot. As for tickets to the taping, I think they had a website to get tickets on a first come first serve basis. If you are on Main Street you are expected to come dressed for Christmas (hats, sweaters, etc.) and stay for the duration of the taping. After that you are free to spend the rest of the day in the park.

We were at WDW from Nov. 30-Dec. 6 of 2008 and the last day we were there, which was Saturday, December 6, they were taping the parade.

My husband and daughter were there that day and said it was by far the busiest day since we had been there. They were re-routed around the backside of Main Street on the way into the park but got to see parts of the parade, Regis and Kelly, etc. on their way out of the park around noon that day.
