Tanque Verde Ranch questions

Hi all

Well, we received our member number today...so it's official...yippeeeee!

We have been debating visiting the Tanque Verde resort before we spend some time with family in Phoenix this Thanksgiving.

Looking through the member book I have a couple of questions, and yes I have read the recent threads on this ranch, but I don't recall these questions having been answered. I have also visited their website and don't see answers to these questions either.

1. Points per night are 37-53 (I'm assuming the range is due to different types of rooms)for the time we will visit. I know this includes all food and activities, but does this include all the people in our party? There will be 2 adults and an 11 year old. Will there be an extra charge for more than 1 person?

2. We will probably arrive mid afternoon on a Saturday, and check out on Tuesday. Will we be able to partake in the scheduled activites on our check out date...until say mid afternoon, or do we have to get out of there at check out time, which I assume is 11 or noon?

Anything else you think we need to know before we call MS on Monday would be appreciated!

I can't tell you about the ranch even though I live just a few miles away from there, but will gladly call them for you to avoid any long distance calls if you would like, just in case you don't get the answers you would need. Just e-mail me if you need me to call them personally for you. By the way, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year to be visiting in Arizona; the weather is very very nice!

We arrived at the ranch at or just after 1pm having just eaten at a nearby restaurant, thinking that as check in was around 3pm we would not get anything to eat until evening dinner. We were wrong! One of the first things that the lovely lady on reception suggested was that we went right along to the dining room where we would be in time to have lunch. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left at about 2.30pm we were able to participate in everything. We could have even gone for the afternoon rides on the arrival and leaving days. No-one asked and we were free to do so.

I think the number of points depends on the size of the room allocated, which depends on the number of people in the party. However, we used points for two people and could have paid cash for our daughter had she decided she wanted to come too. However, I would have had to arrange this through Disney and not directly with the ranch.

Thanks so much for answering my questions....I really appreciate it. It's great to know that we won't be booted out of the resort the second we check out, as we'd like this to be a nice quiet prelude to spending Thanksgiving with my inlaws <vbg>.

If there's anything else that anyone thinks we might be interested in knowing beforehand...please do post it!
