Arriving early won’t guarantee you a table by the window. There are only so many of those available, and you can request it when you check in.

I should rephrase my question. I know it's not a guarantee they will give us a tank table. But we are wanting to know, if people have requested it, do you show up earlier than normal and ask for it at check in?

No, arriving early will not make a difference. CR is one of the restaurants that usually will not allow for checkin more than 10 minutes before your ADR. If you want a table by the aquarium, simply request it when you check in. Be aware that a lot of people request those tables, and they are limited, both in size and in number, so be prepared to be told no.

Also keep in mind that a majority of the tables up against the tanks are for parties of 2-4 people. If you have a bigger group you would most likely not all be able to sit together if you wanted that table.

We waited about 20 minutes for a tank table. It was worth it. A nice relaxing meal.

being so close, its hard to see the "big" picture, as you're basically only seeing the things RIGHT in front of your face.....if you are even 5 feet back, you can see more....

The tables directly abut the glass on the aquarium, so you get a very focused view. If you are seated further away your view is much wider. I have been seated at both and much prefer being seated further away.

Our family of four was seated next to the glass at the furthest end of the row of tables. We basically had no view, as we could only see what we were directly (sideways) facing.

We go for lunch when they open and usually get a tank table for the 3 of us.
