Tamron lens

Me again. I asked opinions last week on the Sigma 18-200 lens and the Sigma 18-125 lens. I have also been researching the Tamron 18-200 lens for my Canon rebel XT. Does anyone have this lens and if so, what do you think of it. I found one website with pictures that were incredible. If you have any opinions I would appreciate it. Thank you

Reviews are somewhat mixed on both the sigma and tamron 18-200. Some people are complaining about the actual focal length of the tamron (saying it really only reaches to about 160-180mm) Both are pretty slow on the full zoom end at only 6.3 and slower to focus than other canon or nikon lenses. If your just looking to have a single lens and aren't looking to go pro, then either probably would be a good choice for an amature photographer.

The 18-125 seems to be getting better reviews.

I'm a Nikon user, and wouldn't buy anything but a Nikkor lens. If I was a Canon user, it would be Canon glass all the way. I don't know a single pro who uses "off-brand" glass. Wait, I take that back--I know one guy, but he's semi-pro at best.

I'm a Nikon user and have Nikkor lenses and Quantaray lenses. I've also used Tamron lenses in the past. I'm am amature and the vast majority of Nikkor lenses are way out of my budget. I don't sell any of my photos and don't ever intend to. I do like taking great photos and 3rd party lenses have served me well in the past.

All 3 of these pictures were taken with my Quantaray 70-300 f/4-5.6 NF AF that I bought for my Nikon N70 in 1997. It still works great with my new Nikon D50 I got 3 months ago.
