Tamarack state beach?

Anyone been here? We are flying into SD and heading towards legoland. We plan to arrive to the airport about 10am, get a rental car, and head toward LEGO land. We wanna stop at a beach and show the kids the ocean and hang out for a bit before checking in. This one shows 10mins from LEGO land.

The kids might also like LaJolla to so be sure to check that out. It's basically on the way to Lego Land. They can see seals and sea lions there.

That's a good beach. Nice and flat and usually a good number of surfers there. My favorite pizza place is nearby too...Knockout Pizza. Fantastic NY style pizza by the slice there, short walk from the beach.
