Tall toddlers?

I've taken my 2yr olds on the 40" rides because they were over 40". They had a blast. YDD was riding Mission Space by age 4. She LOVES to spin (it's the sensation) so it's her favorite ride.

Thank you for the responses!! I think if she makes the cut we'll
stick to Soarin' and maybe the new barnstormer ride. No way to TT!!

No way to Test Track?? Well I hope you don't drive her around in the car then. ;) That's all it is. Driving around in a car. On the open loop you don't even hit 60mph! LOL

If you mean ToT...then that's probably a wise decision. :thumbsup2

At what age would you all say Haunted Mansion is ok for kids? Also ToT? Pretty sure ODS will be plenty tall enough for both of those ride because he is HUGE for his age too.

I'd say any age for HM, unless he gets scared at semi-spooky things....I think test track would be ok too.....no worse than driving down a bumpy road. Not sure about ToT? I don't remember it being particularly rough or jerking...just startling....but if you get barred in with a really big person, there wouldn't be much to hold him down!! :goodvibes.

On DS' first trip at 3 3/4 he met the height requirement so we thought it was a great idea to bring him on whatever we felt "safe" doing. I know we brought him on Tower (bought the pic b/c you see DH and my arms link to old him in and sheer terror on my face). DS had no problem and enjoyed it but looking back I would not do it again... just too young.

All turned out fine thank goodness but we both look back and say "What the heck were we thinking?"
BTMRR, HM, DInosaur even test track were fine just feel crazy that we brought him on terror.

I bet she will meet the height requirement! Have a magical time with whatever you do:wizard:

My 2 and 3 year old grand daughters are 40", they loved splash and thunder mountains!!

The first time I took my boys to US/IOA was when the Mummy opened. I want to say my youngest was around 9? He was an age where I didn't want to leave him alone outside, and me and my oldest son really wanted to ride it. I kind of "bribed" him to ride with us. Same thing as you....I saw the pic afterwards, and he was sitting there with his eye's screwed shut, terrified. I felt so bad afterwards, he said he had his eyes shut the entire time. But like you too, I didn't damage him, he loves the ride now :thumbsup2 But I still feel like dirt having him do it the first time.

My oldest DD has always been tall for her age. She was 40" at age 3 and 44" by age 4. No way would I have let her ride certain rides at age 3. Heck, on our last trip when she was just over 6, I didn't let her ride Tower of Terror, though she was plenty tall enough for it. I just didn't think that she would be able to stay down in the seat since even I can't do that. I wouldn't be able to hold on to her and hold on to the handles for myself.

My DS is a moose..always has been. There are many rides that he "could" ride that I said no to him going on because he was still a very small child, independent of his height. There are rides this trip that I will likely be doing the same, as I just don't think my 6 year old needs to be riding RnR, even if the bar will fit him. YMMV.
