Tall Ships Chicago

In Chicago they have been advertising that a bunch of Tall Ships will be at Navy Pier in Chicago August 24-29. There are several ticket choices but the one to get on the pier & tour a number of boats is $20 for adults. Checking the website navypier.com under tall ships I saw that if you bought advance tickets at Dominicks the price is only $13!! There is also a small discount if you use a specially marked can of Pepsi. I thought I'd put this out here incase anyone was thinking about attending. It's a really good discount.

DH and I saw the tall ships in Bermuda last June. Some of them are huge and very cool, and some of them open up for tours.

we did the tall ships in newport 3 years ago...they were indeed very cool. I can't wait for them to come back to our neighborhood.

I grew up in SouthWest Michigan and have seen the Tall Ships several times. I have a signed print by a local artist that did the poster. Beautiful. The last time I toured them was 12 years ago when preg w/ DS. I would love to take DD & DS to Chicago to see but just can't budget the trip with school starting and all. Next time they come to South Haven I will plan a trip home.

It's part of the ASTA Tall Ships Challenge. Happens every year, but rotates between 3 overall locations. Next year will be West coast, then East coast, then back to the Great Lakes. They're doing a similar festival in San Diego this year on Labor Day weekend. Can't wait until the actual Challenge comes back here next year. I usually volunteer dockside in L.A., then visit and go out on a battle sail down in San Diego.

Use those discounts and go out to see the tall ships! Always a great time!!

Weren't they cool?! I was driving up by the Cooper Top church yesterday and I looked down towards the lake there was one leaving - it surprised me as I thought they had all left. Glad to get one more glimpse!
