I'll be heading to Disneyland soon. I myself am big, as noted before in a few posts, but my brother will now be going and he's even bigger -- a true NFL lineman size in terms of build (big, but muscles everywhere too).

He's about 6'7"-6'8" and about 375lbs...well built too in the shoulders. So my concern is California Screamin, since it pulls down. Any advice here from anyone? We've never been to DL, so how it works is beyond me.

Can he sit down and get situated, and be able to get it pulled down and latched? Should/Can, I help him (i.e.: he sits down, pulls down, then I push the harness down to latch it at least once?).

This may not even be an issue, but I'm looking for some strategies since he has such a broad shoulder and chest and is also very tall.

Tall pooh, sounds very scary and gross too. I don't recommend going on that ride. Lol ;)

The rides at DL and DCA are pretty much okay for XLT people.
Others have said to avoid Goofy's Sky School, due to the small space in the ride car.
I feel CS will be fine. Tight but possible.
Before you get in line take a few minutes to watch people in line and loading up for the ride.
If he needs assistance, the CM's are there to help.

Thanks. Any idea how it compares to, say, Rock N Rollercoaster at WDW. He has definitely done that before with relative ease.

I've never been to WDW.
I'm sure someone here will know.
Wait for the people to get online this evening and you'll have your answer.

The two rides have similar seats. Both also use a magnetic launch system, so it is quite likely they are built by the same company.

Universal Orlando has example seats placed outside the entrance of many rides, something Disney should consider for a few rides.

My husband is 6'3" and around 300 pounds and he said he had no problems riding Screamin'. He's also ridden Rockin' Roller Coaster. Hope that helps!

Thanks to all so far...any comparisons always help. Obviously my brother is used to dealing with his large frame -- a gift of genetics no one in our family can understand. It's not the end of the world if he can't ride...just hoping he can since it's a true "thrill ride."

Any suggestions for Space Mountain? He's ridden Space Mountain at WDW, but it's a different lap bar setup.

My experience at Christmas this year was the Cast Members will absolutely not help if you have trouble latching or buckling something. It happened to me twice due to a flexibility problem because of an injury and the buckle being low and on the opposite side of my injury. I had to get off a ride one time and the other time I had to have my 7 year old buckle me which was pretty embarrassing to say the least. The CM just stood there and looked at me and said they weren't allowed to help. It happened on two different days on two different rides so it wasn't just an uninformed cast member.
