Hello, I'm starting to see some videos online from the past week of the talking Mickey greeting guests at the MK again. Is this back in testing or permanent? We are going Oct 30- Nov 5 and My 3 1/2yr old would LOVE this.

Testing it only. Keep your fingers crossed for we'll also be there during the same dates and we would also love to meet the talking Mickey ;)

I have heard they have been popping him around more frequently. I think they are testing it especially because of my magic+. Eventually the characters will know the kids names when they come up for the meet and greets which will create a whole different aspect to them and the kids will be in awe.

I wish my niece and nephew were young enough that they'd appreciate this more when it becomes permanent.

I'd love to take my own kids and have that experience but thus far don't have them.

is there any news or rumor about expanding this to include more characters? I saw an ESPN video where Goofy & Donald joined Mickey, and all 3 were talking.

This is just amazing technology, and I hope to see the day where every character can talk. How awesome will that be?

I'm sure more characters will be added to the line-up if test with Mickey work well... It is indeed an amazing technology!

We were just there last week and we were heading to see the princesses at Town Hall...a CM asked my daughter if she wanted a surprise and took us into a private room and met the Talking Mickey! Photopass Photographer was there too...it was a great experience!

I stumbled across a youtube video of talking mickey and actually (admittedly) teared up watching the child react when Mickey talked. Then I immediately pictured my sons reaction and bawled like a little girl.

I'm hoping hoping hoping Talking Mickey is being tested while we're there. I wish there was a way to know in advance, but in reality, what awesome :pixiedust:

On Monday, the CM working Mickey's door at TST said Talking Mickey appears very sporadically and not very often. Maybe we'll get lucky today.

I waited on a line that was longer than I'm usually willing to wait on to meet Talking Mickey at Town Square. By the time we got in... no talking character. Wouldn't have been so painful if we hadn't already taken a picture over in Epcot a few hours before.

While the technology behind this is pretty cool, I find the whole concept creepy. Even the blinking eyes were bad enough!

If I was 5, I am sure having a conversation with Mickey would be the coolest thing to ever happen to me. As an adult, I feel like the characters are turning into AI robots.

I'm crossing my fingers this becomes permanent! Disney is about making magic come alive, and if Mickey can have a conversation with your child I think that would be very magical. :)

how did you know Talking Mickey was meeting? We're headed to WDW soon, and it would be really cool if we met him!

My family has been over the character meetings for a few years now, however, when this becomes the norm, I will be back in line. Or better yet, will have a FPP for the meets. The closer we get to using the MMP, the better it sounds.

We didn't. I had heard that they were testing him out, so I took a chance and waited, rather than just ask one of the workers. I could have saved myself 40 minutes by asking instead of just standing there. Oh well.
