So usually when I buy event tickets I just buy from the source or occasionally like Groupon/Living Social. I often see cheaper tickets out on Stubhub and am just curious what everyone's experiences are..Do you get an actual ticket or a voucher?

You usually get an e-ticket to print. if For a few events that don't do e-tickets you may get mailed an actual ticket. It will say "Instant Download," "Electronic" if they will be emailed, or sometimes "Pick up" or a shipping method depending on how the seller listed the tickets. You have to pay for shipping when you choose one with a shipping method. There are also fees added for both the seller and the buyer. They have an option to display the price with ticket fees, but any shipping is still added later.

I have never bought from there, but I have a friend who uses them all the time. My DS buys from e-bay all the time. I know they both went to a basketball game last month and it was a game to see who paid the least. She did at $4 a ticket. DS paid $6.

Thanks! The on-line reviews are pretty awful so it worries me a bit, especially when the event I'm looking at is over a 5 hr drive away...Maybe I'll just pay a few more bucks to buy thru ticketmaster.

I used stub hub for the first time in November. I think I ordered on Friday and tickets arrived Tuesday. No issues.

We have used Stub Hub several times. We have always gotten the e-tickets that download to our phone. You can get some really great deals if you can wait until the day of the event.

They have a great policy where they will not list the ticket until they have it in their hands. The early days it was a little up in the air but that's all straightened out many years ago.. I have used them many times in the past.

I have used StubHub very successfully in the past. The only times we have had a bad experience was when we bought the ticket less than 24 hours before the event. We decided last minute we wanted to go to Billy Joel since we live right next to MSG. Well I guess the original poster of the tickets didn't realize someone bought them as they were already at the venue when we bought the tickets off stubhub. Stubhub gave us the price of the tickets back plus 50 dollars for each ticket. We were able to buy directly from the venue so to us no harm no foul and we came out 100 bucks ahead.

This is not true. I have sold tickets on Stubhub and it specifically asks when you'll have the tickets in hand. When we've sold tickets on Stubhub we never actually sent Stubhub the tickets- we simply uploaded the PDFs when we got the tickets. We have listed tickets on Stubhub MONTHS before having the tickets.

I use them all the time
Most of the time for sporting event tickets.
I always buy last minute. I can usually get a better deal that way.

We sell our football tickets on there when we can't go. We mail people the actual tickets. We had a super stressful situation when we had to buy Garth Brooks tix from there because they sold out instantly. We were mailed a prepaid debit card to use for entry. That's it. This was not disclosed at all when purchasing. It worked out totally fine and stub hub guaranteed the tix, but it felt weird.

Stubhub is great. They will stand behind the tickets if you have issues. Yes, there are lots of fees, but if you are willing to wait until the last minute, you can get a really great deal.

I buy thousands of dollars of concert tickets a year through StubHub - they are my go-to for tickets.
Love them and have never had an issue!

I use them for sporting events. I have never had trouble. Went to an IU basketball game yesterday using instant download tickets from Stubhub.

Glad to hear so many good reviews from here...The reviews online made me leery, but this makes me feel better about giving it a go.

We use Stub Hub a lot and have not had a bad experience. We have been mailed actual tickets before, and also done e-tickets that we print. Both have worked fine. Stub Hub guarentees the tickets if something were to go wrong and the tickets didn't work, which is the main reason I use them and worth the extra fees that you pay. I know that there are sports organizations where when they are offically sold out the organziation (like a Major League Baseball team) specifically directs you to Stubhub as they are an authorized reseller for them. I personally would consider them a very safe place to purchase from, and if you are looking at a sold event probably your best bet to be able to find tickets. Also cheap tickets too. Had a friend who stopped buying season tickets for college football and bought off stub hub instead. Better seats for a lot lower price!
