Talk to me about Splitsville.

It'll be two families for a total of 8. Kids will be 4, 9, 14 and 16. We will spend the day in MK and would have loved to eat at Crystal Palace or 9400 for the characters, we can't get any for a decent hour for 8 people. Would a trip to Disney Springs be super out of the question in the evening? We will only have the families together for that day. I thought T-Rex might be fun but we only get a 10 pm. My daughter stumbled upon Splitsville and it's someplace I'd never considered. With 4 of us being on t dining plan and my brother's family NOT, the menu looks affordable to them. But without bowling (will take up too much precious time), will it still be fun for all?

Again - I'd rather stay at MK, but just looking at other options for dinner.

We had a great time at Splitsville - and we didn't bowl. Just had dinner. It is a loud atmosphere, with plenty of families with kids in tow. The menu is huge, and will have something for everyone in your party - burgers, sushi, pizza, steak, pasta. You name it. We enjoyed the nachos!

Funny thing is I didn't know it was a chain until I got back to Boston, and saw that there was one at Patriot Place in Foxboro. But it will always be a Disney place for me now!!!

We bowled and ate, we all had burgers and they were really delicious. We ate at the lane but there are outdoor tables for a dining-only experience. I wouldn't say it was the best place to eat at DS nowadays (we ate there 3 years ago) but it was good food alongside a great game of bowling.

I highly recommend the cake! We have gone for dessert after having dinner elsewhere in DS. The cake is insanely good-they have different flavors depending on the day-carrot, red velvet, chocolate, etc.-and it is supposed to serve two but could easily feed four.

We've eaten at Splitsville twice without bowling. It's a casual place and the food is decent.

We have Spiltsville booked for our Aug trip and so far, for food only. The menu looked fun and appealed to both the children.
We do a DS afternoon each trip which is almost chilled out enough to be down time from the parks. I like taking the ferry from POR. We buy a Christmas decoration (which we try to do each time we travel anywhere) and do a family activity - last time we went to the cinema so Splitsville and bowling looked liked a good alternative as obviously we can only watch a Disney film while on property and I can't see anything scheduled!
I'm trying to book a lane too but as I don't have a US phone / cell number, I can't make an online reservation. I'm planning to try to ask Guest Services to help when we arrive in our resort.

We like the menu is diverse that everyone is happy, prices reasonable, service always been good.

Recently went to the Tampa Channelside location as a family for son's 15th birthday. 8 people in our group. We reserved a lane for 2 hours and ordered food. The food was good but I wish we ate before or after bowling because we didn't even get through the second game when lane was turned off. They shut the lane off exactly at 2 hours without even considering we were mid game. Player was throwing a ball when bam, it shut down.

Our group felt bowling lanes needed upgrading and lanes are short. We won't go back as there are better bowling alleys closer to our house. We did like the food variety for our group (burgers, wings, to sushi options). No food complaints at all. If in the area I would stop in for the food.

If you think T-Rex would be fun, call the restaurant directly. They often have much more availability directly than through Disney. If it were my choice, i wouldn't be worried about doing T-Rex, even though the food is decent. It's just that there are so many great places to try at Disney Springs. However, the kids will not stand for skipping it, they have gone twice now and it is near the top of their list for our next trip. They are 7 and 5.

I am not a food snob at all, but T-Rex was really bad. My daughter is 8 and found the themeing OTT and kinda lame, I would suspect that the only person in your party who would really get a kick out of it would be the 4 year old. We too are thinking of trying Splitsville next time, but will definitely make an evening out of it and bowl too.

I can't comment on Splitsville because we'll be trying it for the first time in our next trip. But I agree with a pp that suggested you get the direct number of T-Rex and call. They hold back some reservations from the Disney site and we've never had trouble getting a reservation by calling. Also, they are a Landrys restaurant so if you have a Landrys card (it's $25 to get one but then you get a $25 credit at your first meal) you can walk up without a reservation and you'll be immediately seated-just show them the Landrys card. My sons (now 10 and 7) love T-Rex so it's a must-do for us!

We love Splitsville, the food has always been good and always room in there for larger groups. Fun for kids as well. The loaded fries have been a favorite of ours, sushi was good as well.

I hate bowling, but have dined a Splitsville a couple of times. The food is good! The theming isn't much, especially sans bowling, but it's a decent place. Have you thought of Bongos? Might be a bit more "special." Enjoy!

My aunt & I ended up at Splitsville one night and had a wonderful meal. With no intentions of initially going there, we left very happy with our experience. Then again we dined outside and it was a cooler night w/the heatlamps on so I'm sure that added to the overall great experience. Good burgers, great fries and decent salads

I have been trying to get a reservation at T-Rex for weeks on WDW site. Called the restaurant directly today and got reservation without a problem!

We had a great time at Splitsville -- 5 adults and 4 kids. The bowling balls have mickey/minnie on them, and the food and drinks were very good. Highly recommend!

We also enjoyed Splitsville for dinner, and didn't bowl. We ate there on a Sunday during football season, and the bar/dining area around the bar was pretty crowded with football fans.

I also agree that if T-Rex was your first choice, you can call for additional reservation availability. However, T-Rex is owned by the same company as Rainforest Cafe and they are very similar to us. Very chain restaurant-like and we weren't fans.
