Talk to me about New Year's Eve

My girls and I have just decided to head down for marathon weekend a little early and now will be at WDW for New Years. We will arrive Dec. 30 and plan to do MK that day/night and then hit Epcot for the 31st. Since my husband is joining us later in the week, it's just my 3 daughters (17, 15 and 10). We know to expect insane crowds and since we have AP, we are fine with not really riding things, but just hanging out and taking it in. So a couple of questions: 1. Is Epcot on the 31st going to be full of over-served people? Is it a kid appropriate atmosphere? 2. What are your best tips for surviving this? We are super excited to cross this off of our bucket list!
