We are planning a long weekend trip to MOA and wondered what else there is do in the area... any help is appreciated!!

There are tons if things to do in the area.

Valley Fair is an amusement park, there is a water park right next to the mall, the MN Zoo is right in that area, there is a free Como Zoo that is in St. Paul, Children's Museum, Science Museum.....what are you looking to do and I can help you a little more.

Who is going, how old, what do you like to do? When will you be here?

Go wander the skyways downtown. Be sure to check out the Shout House for the dueling Piano's.

Much will depend on your transportation options.
Will you be driving in or renting a car, or flying in and relying on public transit? Our light rail runs from downtown, through the airport, and out to MOA.
Also, the time/ season you would be here.

Here's a link to our state travel guide www.exploreminnesota.com/

In Mpls:

-ball game ( both Twins & Vikings stadiums have light rail access)
-breakfast at Hell's Kitchen
-theaters www.hennepintheatretrust.org/
-Mill City Museum
-Walker Art Center & Sculpture Garden
-Nicollet Mall (a downtown street of resturants and shops with light rail at north end and free buses along mall )
-Target Center arena ( Timberwolves -basketball)
-Warehouse District (night clubs)
-Minnehaha Falls (south mpls with light rail nearby, great for a picnic)

In St Paul & 'burbs:

-Valley Fair
-MOA (also has light rail access)
-Minnesota Zoo
-Como Zoo (St Paul)
-State Fair ( near St Paul, is one of the largest, runs 8/28-9/6)
-Grand Ave (St Paul, resturants & shops)
-X-cel Energy Center arena (St Paul) (MN Wild -hockey)
-Children's Museum (St Paul)
-Science Museum (St Paul)
-Padelford Riverboat (St Paul)

Enjoy your visit!

Ok, first, NO SALES TAX on clothing :thumbsup2. Valleyfair would be a fun thing to do-they also have a great waterpark with a wave pool-not Disney great but still nice. Take in a show at the Guthrie Theater, visit the Minneapolis Museum of Art and the Walker Art Center-all are pretty well known around the nation/world. The Minnesota Zoo is about 10 miles south of the MOA, very easy to find. That is worth the trip.

I would head out to Stillwater for a day and shop in downtown (antique stores and fun shops) take a trolley tour of the town, lots of beautiful Victorian homes). For a fun place to eat, got to Forepaughs in St. Paul, it is a restaurant in a Victorian home. Combine that with a trip to the Science Museum since they are pretty much across the street from each other. The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit is there now. If you are here the last week in Aug-first week in Sept, the State Fair is going on and that is always an experience.

The State fair is a Great way to experience Minnesota all in one place.
