so I'm going to Disneyland for the very first time in May to run the tink and I'm super excited! Everything on property is completely booked so I'm looking outside of Disney. I'd really like to be walking distance from the park. Any suggestions?

If you have young kids check out the Hojo Anaheim - my little ones love their splash park more than Disneyland LOL. I haven't stayed yet, but the Marriott waterpark also sounds like a lot of fun, especially for older kids. We also frequently stay at the Candy Cane Inn.

The very closest (shortest walk to the turnstiles) are Best Western Park Place Inn and Park view inn. Both are nice hotels with very good free breakfasts and great facilities.
I highly recommend either one!

Bring up disneyland on google maps. Then look at the hotels right across the street on harbour boulevard. Those are your best bets. The closes are the Best Western Park Place Inn and the Desert Inn and Suites (the crosswalk is pretty much between them). Then to either side you're getting further away.

Good advice but the cross walk is between BWPPI and PVI.

There are dozens of trip reports and threads about all the Harbor hotels. If you use the search function you'll find a ton of personal experiences.

I forget where the corrals are for Tink, but last year's guide is probably available on the run Disney site. You'll probably better off staying on Katella rather than crossing the esplanade with the new park and race security procedures.

Knowing what you are looking for in a hotel helps with these kinds of questions - how many people, kids or no kids, pool important, breakfast important, hotel or motel? A bit of information can help people give you what you need to know.

It's 3 adults, we'd rather a hotel rather than motel. Breakfast isn't important. Just being close and it being clean and nice

A hotel just across on Harbour is harder to find - most of the accommodations directly across are motels - meaning your room opens to the outside. The HOJO has indoor corridors, which we prefer and I think the Courtyard by Marriott right beside them do as well. Otherwise, to get an actual hotel you'd have to go past Katella I believe but others might know differently.

When I go for run weekends, I would rather stay on Katella and Disneyland Drive since it is closer to the start/finish line than the hotels on Harbor. Check out the Anabella (but it may be closing soon), Anaheim Hilton, Best Western Stovalls and even Eden Roc...since they updated it.

Others have mentioned the Hojo and I wanted to just add that they also have a discount for runners if you call them directly. I have stayed there on race weekends (as well as non race weekends) and we love it. If you'd rather be on the Katella side, we were very happy at Best Western Stovalls. But its a motel, not a hotel.
If you find things are booked when you check their sites directly, you might still be able to get a room through Get Travel. www.gettravel.com

Depends what you really want but we are always happy with Tropicana, Camelot Inn, BWPP .

We've stayed at the HoJo and this past Oct we did Desert Inn and Suites. For price and location DI&S was great. I posted some pics on this thread http://disboards.com/threads/desert-inn-and-suites-or-castle-inn-and-suites.3460106/#post-54673450

We loved having the parks right across the street, they have free WiFi, breakfast and the room was clean andpretty big. The HoJo is not much further out and if I could find the deal I got that first time we went I would totally stay there again. That room was huge, next to Mimi's (which saw us for breakfast pretty much everyday ;)).

Sorry cannot help on the Katella side, have not stayed there yet. Later this month we will try the Ramada Maingate (which will now be the Grand Legacy at the parks).
