Sorry this is long, but I REALLY REALLY need to vent.
So my parents had a whole trip to Niagra Falls planned for their 30th anniversary. Left Sunday morning. An hour from home- the rear axel of the car collapsed and the wheels are totally caving in. Ok, so call AAA and get a truck to tow them back home. DH and I take separate cars up to meet them, one for them to take to Canada and the other for us to drive home and use. About 2 hours after they call, they're back on the road. 45 minutes later, the front tire of the car they're now driving shreds and flies into the headlight, shattering the parking light and turn signal. They call AAA AGAIN, guy comes out, puts the spare on and tells them it won't get them more than 20 miles and they need to find a tire store, but that most in the area are closed on Sundays. Luckily they found a Sears that said they could do new tires in about an hour. So they do that and, luckily, make it to Canada (a 6 hour drive) 13 hours after they left.
With only one car, DH and I had to make arrangements for me to get to to work at 1. My best friend offered to drop me off after we went to get our nails done and have lunch. So I get ready this morning and am excited to hang out with her for a little while. Phone rings. Her mom fell down some stairs, was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital and couldn't move her back. My BF was on her way to meet them and called. Not sure how her mom is doing right now but I'm expecting a call in the next couple of hours.
With the luck the people around me are having, I kind of don't want to leave the house. Maybe I should call out and just spend the rest of the day planning & packing for our August Disney trip??
