Tales Of Pixie Dust!! A NYE Week TR! UPD- 1/20-Winter Pics!! Non- TR!

MaryAZ and Kathy (KatMark) decided today that her and Mark will be there at the same time. Not sure who else at this time, I'm thinking Jill maybe joining in as well (not sure about her disser name).

I am thinking a mod; most of the others are going deluxe but I cannot justify the cost. Not only that we are suppose to be going on a cruise in the spring and I know Danny will want to go to the beach during the summer. So, I don't think I will be splurging on this trip (we never do). Trying to decide on our dates, plan to book Friday so I need to really get this down.
That will be fun with all the disers. I know I'm ringing in 2010 with a bunch of DIS friends on the Poly beach.
I've only stayed at Coronado and French Quarter for the moderates. Both are different. I liked FQ for a more relaxing trip-- it has the boat to DTD, a little further from the parks, and it just has that relaxing feel.
CSR has its own bus and is very quick and close to the parks making going back for rests easy.
I'm sure CBR and POR are great, too.

so very very fun...what did it look like up there in the triangle or maybe you never even saw it huh?

can't wait to hear the next part popcorn::

What a deal on the tickets! Makes me want to move down to Florida just to take advantage of deals like that! LOL!

Beaches and Cream for dinner sounds perfect! Can't wait to see pictures of your view and hear why a random CM was hugging your children!

You dun rung in 2010 a long time ago, girl! You'll be ringin' in 2012 on the Poly beach with us, right?

We really like French Quarter. It is so peaceful. I love the fact that every Disney resort has its own very special 'vibe'. I just love to resort hop to look at all the pretty flowers and landscaping, pictures and furniture, CM outfits and architecture, etc.

I think it is so sweet that these two families are developing this special relationship. I know our little girls think Mr. Marc and Miss Anita Wigd are awesome, and they are so good to all of us. DIS friends really are special.

I never got to see the view! I'm sure it was great, though. The view of the last room was INCREDIBLE-- I could wake up to that everyday.
Joining in but have to go back and read now!
Welcome!

A surprise trip like this sounds super fun

Can't wait to hear more
Good to have you here. I'll be updating when I'm done doing replies.

I thought it would be for going to a time share presentation but it wasn't. Such a great deal!
Come on down here, girl.:goodvibes
It was a great dinner!!

LOL! Can you tell it was a long day at work? We can go back in the past and ring in 2010 again, can't we??:lmao:
Yes, I'll be at the meet.
I had a day during this trip when I tried to visit all resorts in one day. I thought it would be a fun thing to say. I missed CBR and the All Stars.

I completely agree. I'll be saying the same thing at Hannah and Seth's wedding.:rotfl2:

We last left off at this spot.

Marveling at this beauty. Oh, how I love Christmas time in WDW!!
IMG_0102600x800.jpg

I had told Amy something; saying her name. Emily's name must of been said, too, because once the CM over at the podium for Cape May put the puzzle pieces she came running and gave each of my children a hug. We were all a little freaked out by this. The CM said she had remembered the girls from when they were younger and we would eat at Cape May. I could not believe it. She was our usual server but it's not like we ate there every night-- we ate there about 10 times a year max. when we lived in Orlando. We moved in 2002 and then went once in 2004 to visit her and now this was 2010! WOW! When the girls were younger the CM, Jessica, ADORED the kids. She was always giving them pins, bubbles, stickers, what ever she had. We were keeping her from her duty so we all quickly exchanged Facebook info and we were on our merry way. I still could not believe it! I still can't.
More hints that it was Christmas time.

We stepped outside to this.

It was a beautiful night out. It was about 8 PM at this time so we decided to stick around for Illuminations.
The BW was definitely hopping on this night. A magician doing magic tricks caught our attention so we went to go watch for a little while.
This was right in front of the BW bakery. The magician calls Emily up to be his assistant. He says "For my next trick, I'm going to make this girl, right here, evaporate." :scared1: :scared1:
She was surrounded by black boards and then by the count of 3 was gone. Mitch was called up to examine and prove to the audience that she was gone. This whole time I'm thinking "Oh please, not you, too." She was in fact gone. The show had ended and I went up to the magician and asked if I can have my daughter back. "You can have whatever you want-- You're in Disney World." He says he'll be right back goes in the bakery, comes back, and tells me to wave his wand and say "Mickey Mouse." Outcomes Emily out of the bakery. The CM in there let her pick out anything she wanted for FREE! Can this night get anymore magical? We all shared the cheesecake brownie while we waited for Illuminations. It was like tasting a bite of heaven. Can you tell what I had for breakfast the rest of the trip when we had no ADRs?
Illuminations started a few minutes later. We enjoyed as always. After that Mitch went back up to the room to do some work on his laptop. I took the girls to the Swan and then Daisy's Garden. When we got back DH was passed out on the couch. I forgot to mention that we had to have a King bed room because there weren't any double bed rooms available. Jack frost was in the room before us and the thermostat was on 62 degrees and it wouldn't move. Also, the heat was broken. I called the front desk and got an answer to "Hello, Mrs. insert my last name, how can I help you?" I told them that our A/C wasn't working properly and was told that they were so very sorry and someone would be right up to fix it. :woohoo: I LOVE the service at the Dolphin. Someone was up in 10 minutes and he thought he fixed it but 10 minutes later it was broken again. It was 11 at this point and the girls could not fall asleep due to my talking on the phone with the front desk. We had to at the CR at 8. I called the front desk again and just asked for extra blankets. They finally came but not until 11:30. I finally was about to go to bed but the I lifted up the blanket and saw a huge puddle of dry blood!!:scared1: It wasn't from us since no one was on the bed yet-- they were all on the couch. I was done at this point. I called the front desk AGAIN and told them I could not sleep in this room due to the FREEZING cold and the pile of blood. They apologized and said the manager will be right up. 10 minutes later the manager came and said I could leave the rest of my family and our bags in this room and I can have the 2nd room for free for this night. Amy and Mitch were long out so just Emily came with me. I left them a note and set their alarm for 6:00 so that we could get to Chef Mickey's. We got to the room at 12:30 and both collapsed. This was the 2nd room out of 4 that we would have.
It was a GREAT night minus the room drama.

EEEEWWWWEEEEEE!

but on the other hand...love the story of the CM and remembering the girls! and sounds like the magician was fun, although I would not have been alright with her not reappearing sooner than the end of the show...

What a wonderful story of the CM remembering the girls. THIS IS WHAT DISNEY IS ALL ABOUT!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Yuck on the room and glad to see they gave you another one...but what a hassle.

How neat about the CM remembering the girls! So sweet!!! What fun for Emily to be a part of the magic act AND get a treat from the Boardwalk Bakery!

Ewww on the room problems! Glad they fixed it by switching rooms for you!

Sounds scrumptious. In Disney World, you can have anything you want for breakfast, and it is perfectly acceptable. ::yes::

What a touching story that she remembered both of your kids....gotta luv disney:goodvibes

Yikes about the room...that's definitely not the greatest start to your vacation.

It def. is what WDW is all about.
It was a hassle! It wasn't something I wanted to deal with at midnight.

We'll keep this between you and me: I still have some Christmas decorations around me house.:scared1:
I always buy food that I wouldn't normally buy to bring along for vacations. It's part of the fun!

I couldn't believe it!
Thank you! The pictures are from a couple different trips because I'm not getting my charger until I pick it up in person on FRIDAY! I was afraid it would get to my house while I'm in WDW.

Spur of the moment trips often turn out to be the best ones :)

Glad to have you here.
She was in some black box thing and she crawled through the opening and into the bakery. I'm sure there is more details but she didn't want to, and I quote "Ruin the magic for me"
