I woke up today in what has been refered to on here as the "Bite Me" zone. That place where you have no motivation, everything is sore, and you feel like the fattest slowest cow that ever lived.

It was 40 degrees, brisk wind and an evil rainy looking dark sky. Not a day to be out walking in traffic. So I went to the gym for some treadmill time and just couldn't get into that either. Little things like nothing good on the TVs to watch and static from all of them on the speakers anyway.

I've found that the best thing for days like this is just to say to heck with it, whinne, fuss, gripe and call it a down day and have a better day tomorrow.

Anyone else having a "Bite Me" day and want to whinne and get it out of the way so you can go on and have a better week?

Heck, I started in the BMZ on Tuesday!! :sad2: Today I am fighting off this flu (both virtual and from my kiddos), have tired legs, and it is raining buckets and about 45 degrees here. I very much dislike the dreadmills and being in an enclosed gym where there is no sunshine but that is where I will be in a couple of hours. Oh, and while I was typing, it started raining HARDER...did I mention I forgot to take the sheets in off my clothesline last night????????? :headache:

PandaDaveI think that my wife would agree that I am more often than not in the BMZ, even when I am not training. :welcome: to my world. ;)

Thanks for the  BMZ Panda. Right back atcha. I will try and feel the love while I am trudging on the TM. At least if this was snow, I could dig out my skis or snowshoes. :upsidedow

I have been in the BMZ for nearly two weeks! Part of my problem is this hip thing I have going on, it hurts! dang it. :guilty: The rest of it, I think is that I am just plain tired and tired of it. It's 21 degrees outside and I have MORE company coming in this weekend and we are looking at a new house and my hubby is trying to worry himself half to death, he keeps rolling all the info, ideas, plans, etc around in his head until I am worn out, I am sure his thoughts are feeling pretty thread bare, as well! I am doing my stretches, and I have signed us up (hubby and me) to do a Christmas light run/walk, but I just can't seem to get excited.

I've been in the BMZ all week since I was so sore from that long walk last weekend. Hopefully today will be a bit better.

Tell your hubby to get back to his duties of pampering and adoring his pretty bride.

Sad Panda cause he won't get to see Connie in January:sad1:

Try the Weather Channel...:rotfl:

And remember not everything goes as reported...not even Bite Me Days!

And I thought it was just me. :guilty:

For the last two days I have been looking for any excuse to not go out or to cut it short. No motivation, no desire, no energy. I went out both days, but even listening to the Unplugged DIS podcast did not help. :confused3

I mentioned this to my gymnast daughter (13) who trains 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. She said, "some weeks are just poopy". I guess that sums it up.

My gymnast says "hey, we can't all be perfect every day" so same thing. Mine is 13 too. Must be an age thing!!!

You know what they say "Insanity is hereditery, you get it from your children".

Hope your Mojo comes back soon.

My oldest DD (15) is also a gymnast, but she only has four 4 hour practices a week. This is starting to look like a BMZ trend. Maybe its the chaufferring that is adding to this, or the fear of the meets beginning and having to sit through the 3 hour meets followed by the 4 hour awards ceremonies. At least at DD#3's swim meets (two this weekend/Saturday and Sunday), I get the therapeutic sauna benefits. On top of this, DDs #1 and #2 start basketball soon. As the assistant coach, however, I can walk around a little and there is a time limit. DS is off for the winter (at least weekends). I just wish there was something for kids to do besides television and video games.:confused3

Well, Panda, if I'm in the BMZ today it's because of my in-laws. But that's another post. Or it could be a work related trip to the BMZ. Yeah, that happens often. Daily, actually. :headache:

Honestly, I don't go to the BMZ very often. When I feel myself headed in that general direction I remind myself that there have been times (post ACL surgery and post foot surgery) when I was barely able to walk at all. Post-ACL replacement I was in a knee brace for one year. I think I'm just so darn happy to be able to do it at all that I don't get into a training related BMZ very often.

Plus, doing the Half in January was the greatest thing I have ever done. Second greatest if my husband is listening. ;) I'm so excited about doing it again I really want to be ready. :woohoo: And the only way to be ready is to get my butt out of bed and on the TM or the road. It ain't gonna happen any other way!

Oh Bill, tell me your DD is not a Darien gymnast.....my DD really dislikes NE Regionals because of that reason alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Panda wanders the wilds of New York till he finds the Queen:snooty: , brings presents:flower3: and a huge hug:hug: , then they face the direction where the inlaws lerk and blow them a hearty rassberry.

DD#3 actually competes in Massachusetts. We live in northern Connecticut and her gym is in Western Massachusetts. Makes for a fun pick up as I work in Hartford, so its about a 45 minute ride (without traffic) for me to get her when I do so from work.
