Taking your own glow necklaces to the parks

I bought some glow necklaces at Dollar Tree yesterday (based on recommendations here!) and I'm wondering how you guys take these things into the parks with you? They are pretty long and unwieldy in those tubes! I guess I can just stuff them under the stroller, but I just want to make sure it is OK to bring them in and see if you guys have any tips for carrying these. Thanks!

We have brought our own and put them under the stroller. They sure do come in handy. We had a family reunion with 15 people and I brought them for everyone. Anyways, when we were leaving the park at night it was easy to spot us in a crowd. Everyone had the ones from Disney and then there was us. Very easy to spot. I will be bringing them again this year.

I had the exact same question when we went 2 years ago. We ended up just sticking them in the backpack that we hung on the rented stroller. They were somewhat annoying through the day but the kids had SO much fun with them that evening. This year I bought the glow bracelets and figured the kids could just put a couple together. Much easier to carry, since we will hopefully be strollerless this trip.

I have gotten the glow sticks from the Dollar tree store here and I think they came with a string to wear around their neck if they want to.I think I might get some necklaces later on before we go..i thought the sticks would be more fun.

You could also check into the glow pendants. They are also at the dollar store and are probably easier to handle.

We also took necklaces when we went. I don't remember it being a big deal. We probably stuck them in the stroller.

I bought glow necklaces and braclets last year too and carried them around in my pack. The kids were thrilled when I took them out, they didn't know I had them, and they NEVER asked to buy any of the ones they were selling at the parks! They wore them each night at the park, and so did I!:wizard:

The long necklace ones are difficult to carry in the parks. My kids' favorites are the earrings. Unfortunately they are harder to find. But I noticed that Dollar Tree now has them in a party pack that also has bracelets in it. I have also gotten the pendants but they don't seem to glow much. Plus watch out for them if you pictures at night - the pendants end up really look weird in the pictures!

We buy glow braclets on ebay in bulk - something like 500 per box. They end up being really cheap - like 5 cents a piece. We can then bring a tube of 100 or so a night and share!:goodvibes

We buy the glow bracelets in bulk also -- they can be connected to make necklaces and are much easier to carry around prior to use.

Great Idea - thanks for the tip. Tomorrow I will be going to Dollar Tree and picking up a bunch for our september trip.

I had a terrible time with my dollar store necklaces. I purchased enough for 7 days and for 2 girls, so I spent about $14. We didn't bring a stroller and the tubes were too long for the small bagalini (sp?) we had. To top it all off there were few that didn't light up or barely lit. Totally NOT worth it for us! I saw those tube necklaces with the chasing lights and they are only $5 each and they are reusable. I would have saved money and aggrevation if I had bought those instead! We are going to buy those our first night at the park this year and not bother with the $ store.
