Taking your medications

I take BC at night before bed. I'm not strict about doing it at the exact same time every day because it's to regulate periods and stop me from bleeding to death, not for contraception.

I am on a progesterone only BC to help control bleeding. If I am late taking it by more than an hour or two I will start to bleed. I try to make sure that I take it within 30 minutes.

Yikes! I've missed a day here and there without any impact. My problem is that sometimes my body doesn't know when to stop after a period has started and it keeps going for months. The pill stops that from happening, with the lovely added effect of much lighter periods, too.

I take 3 medications plus 2 OTC daily. My doctor said they can be taken at any time, and recommended at dinner time. Sometimes I forget and don’t take them until later in the evening, and about once a month I forget completely.

I do have a plastic case with seven compartments for daily use. I leave it on the kitchen counter to help me remember.

Do you take them at the same time every day?

My husband's doctor told him to take his AM meds one hour before breakfast and he won't eat for exactly one-hour after taking it...I told him that eating a few minutes before the hour is up would probably be ok.... opinions?

I think it depends on the medication.

I'm on a bunch of psychiatric medications, and I take them before bed because they make me sleepy. I asked my psychiatrist if it was okay to do that because maybe they'd work better if I took them in the morning and she said it was fine to take them before bed. I also have an anxiety medication I take three times a day.
