We are planning to do the beaches in St. Thomas and St. Marteen on our own. Is it worth it to bring our own water noodles, snorkeling gear and sand toys? Last year when we went to Hawaii we packed my son's hockey bag full of this stuff, and I'm glad we did. Any thoughts or comments? I have 3 kids aged 7, 9, and 11 who all love the water.

thanks..

We took ours last time (except the noodles) and most definately plan on it again this October. They were GREAT to have!!!!!

I get my kids sand toys from the $1 store and throw them away before we disembark. Otherwise, it costs around $20 to purchase toys on CC.

I purchased floats from the Dollar store and marked down water frisbies, balls, goggles etc. from Walmart.

Here's another vote for the" disposable" inexpesive water toys from the Dollar Store. Leave them at Castaway Cay, thereby leaving more room in your luggage for souveniers!

Good to know we aren't the only family dragging around a hockey bag full of snorkle equipment!

We got some funny looks, but I'm glad we brought our own also!

The people staring were wishing they would have been smart enough to do the same thing.:p

I ordered a gift basket from Shirley at the Perfect Gift and had her include sand toys. My 16 yo DS took them to the teen beach adn they were a big hit :)

There is a Dollar store at Merritt Island right brfore you get to Port Canaveral. I don't know the exit# but it is in a small shopping center with a Mcdonlads and a grocery store. I think we saw it from the road.
