Hello! Jumping on board. I love smelling the proverbial and real roses at Disney so I'm excited for this story. :)

I would love to do Star Tours but I have to be very careful with IMAX's and simulation rides because of pretty severe motion sickness issues. I'm afraid that Star Tours would make me very sick!! :confused3

Ahh ... makes sense. :thumbsup2 However, I suffer from motion sickness, and I do well in the parks with taking Bonine. I can ride anything (except the tea cups) and survive ... Oh, and Mission Space (green). Just making sure it wasn't a "because SW doesn't interest me" thing ... because SW doesn't interest me but I love the ride!

(Have you tried taking Bonine and attempting rides and seeing how you do?)

I know not everyone is a glory hog like my DD(8), but... the haircut gets them loads of attention, (they put sparkle stuff in it). My tough guy was about 11 when he got his (he is not really the glory hog type), but he LOVED the attention. Became a conversation when we were home that went something like this... Me- son you need a hair cut badly. Son- but Mom, I'm letting it grow til we can get it cut on mainstreet. hahaha true story.

Regarding HS, make sure to notice the street preformers. If you come across the plumber he is very apt to bring in a kid that is moving with the music.
Also, your sons will probably be bored with it, but if One Mans Dream is open, it is a nice place to cool off, you can walk thru at your leisure, and we found it very interesting.

Your plan sounds amazing. I can relate to the SW motion issue. I used to love that ride. But, now I can't go on. It is DD's favorite ride. We haven't been down since they redid it though. Hope she still loves it.

Is Bonine the non-drowsy med like Dramamine? I've never tried it but my DH is really wanting to go on a cruise and I may need it to survive. ;)

I usually do fine flying though so I may be o.k. I just have trouble when we have to circle before we land. I had quite a few bouts with vertigo about six years ago and I think it really messed up my equilibrium permanently. :confused3

I will offer the haircut to them and see what they say! I do have One Man's Dream on my plan in my head but maybe I didn't put it on paper. My oldest DS is very very analytical and loves to learn about things so I really think looking at the history of Walt Disney and DisneyWorld will interest him.

LOL! you have it.. I missed it. haha very helpful aren't I? haha sorry.

the barber might not be for everyone. My youngest has only been once. Because her hair is really long, and curly, so the pixie dust doesn't show well.
But, my older kids made it a tradition for a few years. They spray in washable color & sparkle(pixie dust). My boys got soooo much attention from people.

First before the real life update. Does anyone know how to take the poll OFF?? I was going to change it periodically like "What is your favorite ride?" or "What is your favorite snack?" but it's stuck there now! :lmao:

The update......we got a new puppy Saturday. She is half Yorkie/ half Chihuahua and is VERY small!!! We went to the pet store looking for a bunny for my youngest DS and ended up with a dog. :confused3 I'm not quite sure how that happened!!! :lmao:

Here are some pics of her....(Please excuse the quality. I hate to blind her completely with the flash so they are mostly dark.)

DS named her Muffin. Our other animals are Cinnamon and Fudge. See a pattern? :rolleyes1 Yes we love our food!

You can see just how small she is in this one.

We are trying to litter box train her which I know can be done because my mom's dog is litterbox trained. She sometimes "gets it" and sometimes doesn't right now but I don't think she really understands yet and I have no idea how to get her to understand.

We are off of school this week so I'll be around a little more than normal! We'll get back to our Disney updates later! Have a great day!

AWWWW, she is so cute. Will you take her with you to Disney? I hear their puppy cares are wonderful. (although, pricey)

No we will be leaving her behind when we go to Disney. We planned on having a teenage girl house sit for us since we have two other animals (although they are both outside, they still need food). Now she just has one more to take care of.

I wouldn't want to subject her to the stress of flying because she is still VERY young. She is only 7 weeks old and I'm afraid it would be too much besides being VERY expensive!!!!

Sorry to hear of your issues. :guilty: Yes, Bonine is the non-drowsy. Dramamine knocks me out COLD!! I almost missed surprising our kids last year because I had taken a dose of it (I get car sick) instead of the Bonine.

I don't know what the difference is between Dramamine non-drowsy and Bonine ... but the pharmacist who assisted me said that Bonine was better. :confused3 (They were roughly the same price.)

You could also try the motion sickness bands. I used those when I was pregnant with DS. Either they worked well, or I had very little morning sickness. (Can't claim which one was the actual case. :lmao:)

And you could also talk to your doctor about having something prescribe as well. I actually have a medicine for vertigo to take with my migraines (sometimes the room spins out of control when I get migraines). I also hear there's herbal and alternative things you can do/take for vertigo, but haven't dug too deep in them. I want to do a cruise, but I'm TERRIFIED I'd be sick the whole time. Or I'd finally adjust as we're pulling back in to dock. I'd love to hear if you find any remedies that work! (But I have had great luck with Bonine, just sayin'. :thumbsup2)

P.S. Love the new family member!! I've heard of several tales of successful litter trainings. Best of luck and keep us posted!

Hello! Jumping on board. I love smelling the proverbial and real roses at Disney so I'm excited for this story. :)

:welcome: I don't promise to succeed at slowing down and smelling the roses but I do promise to try!!! There's just SOOOO much to do!

It's great to have you along for the ride!!!:yay:

Whew! I bet you thought I had forgotten about you!! I haven't but I have been really really busy!!! We only have 53 days left to go but it feels like a million!!!

O.k. onto the update -

We have been shopping lately for clothes for the trip. I do not want to wash at all while we are there so I want to have enough clothes to last the ENTIRE time without spending my precious vacation time in the laundry rooms! With that in mind, I've been looking for great clothes deals around home in order to outfit us for that many days!

I've purchased two bathing suits simply because I couldn't decide between the two. I also hope to lose a few more pounds before our trip in order to fit in more of my shorts but that doesn't seem to be happening so I bought some new shorts today in the :scared1: next size up!!!

The shorts I bought today

:offtopic: I've also been sewing lately and have made a few burp cloths. The blue one is finished but the blue and brown one needs some type of edging. You can tell because the fabric doesn't quite meet the cloth diaper at the ends.

Back to our agenda - Since we are flying now, we will surely make it to WDW early enough to hit up MK on our first evening there. Our plane lands mid-afternoon and we will get to ride ME to Disney for our first time ever! Once we get "home", we will check in and eat dinner at Sassagoula Floatworks since they seem to have some great dinner options and we will have a couple of days in MK to try out more CS meals. After eating dinner, we will head out to MK to see the castle and Wishes on our first night!! I asked both boys which ride had to be our first one (I asked them separately.) and they both answered, "BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!!!" I figure based on the crowd size and the time we get there, we will ride a few more rides and enjoy Wishes. I love the PeopleMover at night so that is a must. Magic Kingdom has extra magic hours that night so I'm hoping that we can last long enough to get quite a few rides in before heading back to POFQ.

One exciting part of the first night is that Nannia and Poppa have never seen Tinkerbell fly during Wishes because it rained while they were there and Tink couldn't fly. I can't wait to see them see her!!! pixiedust: I'll try my best not to cry while watching Wishes that first night but it seems to choke me up!!

What's your first ride at MK? Do you have a favorite? Which rides are your favorite night rides?

Love the bathing suits. I bought the pink flowered one also, but my bottom is the print and the top is black with a pink flower.

Love the shorts and both bathing suits. Burp clothes are cute. Do you sell them, or make them for gifts?
Sounds like an awesome first night. The first time one of my sons saw tink fly he turned tome and said... "i guess dreams really do come true" awww. I used to get choked up every time with wishes. Nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about there. Just proves you are a sensitive person. :goodvibes
We all love Buzz Light year, DH & I, the 21 year olds and the 8 year old. ...and people wonder why we love disney so much. :cool1: I love the people mover too, especially at night. I also like the Jungle cruise at night, but not sure how your boys would be with that one at night time. My daughter was a little timid on it at night.
Good luck with the shopping. Hope you find lots of deals.

Love those bathing suits!
My first ride at MK is often the Train! I hop aboard and usually get off in Frontierland and do BTMR.

Adorable purchases! The burp cloths are great, too! How about some frill-thing (the term has escaped my mind) on the ends? However, if it was for me, I'd totally love it the way it was!

First ride at MK? Honestly, we don't really have a first ride must do ... it's whatever offers us the best wait. :lmao: This year, our first ride was HM, but we grabbed Buzz FPs. However, our MUSTS are Jungle Cruise, Monsters (usually 2-4 times), Buzz, and HM. :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! How neat that we have the same suit!! I saw that top too but had already purchased the black bottom so it would have been a bit too much black for me. I bet it looks great with the print bottom!!!

I don't do either yet because they aren't good enough for either one. I'm just beginning to learn how to sew things so my edges aren't straight yet and stuff. I hope to be able to do both some day. I'm hoping to make my sons' teachers each a small bag for teacher appreciation week but we will see how far I get with that.

We saw wishes twice on the last trip and I cried both times so I'm sure I'll cry again this time. It is by far my favorite show at Disney and oh so magical!!

We have actually never been on Jungle Cruise so that may be a great one to try!

Thanks! I hate bathing suit shopping but my m-i-l was a big help in deciding which ones looked decent. It doesn't help that I've gained 10 pounds in the last year. When I get stressed, I eat and well 2011 was VERY stressful!!!

Thanks!! I am definitely no D~ but I'm so very very new at it. I think I'll make another burp cloth or two tonight and see what I get. Yes some frill on the second one would be super cute because it's not really baby material so it needs something to make it a little more "babyish". (Is that a word??) lol....

Would you believe that we have NEVER ridden Jungle Cruise?? I make that sound like we've gone a million times and have never gotten on it. Truth is, our previous trip was our first time in WDW ever and something always happened to mess up Jungle Cruise. I don't remember what messed it up the first day but on the second try it started raining right before and then of course there was a distant lightning so they shut down the ride (which I completely understood but it was my last chance to ride it).

My MUST do in MK is Pirates of the Caribbean. That song gets so stuck in my head!!

Off to do homework with the kiddos!!! Thanks for hanging out with me!!!

Wait ... you've never done JC? :scared1:

Okay ... I can't read anymore. I thought we were friends. I'm outta here!

Just kidding! I'm not going anywhere!

I know that it's corny, the jokes are cheesey, and they're long out-dated ... but I just love it. But I fit right in, because I'm corny, cheesey, and out-dated. :lmao: Sorry that your plans got foiled last year. That's never fun. :guilty:

Be sure to post up more pics of anything you created! Only D is D, and we just strive to be blessed in her presence. ;) (I made several park bags, but nothing as amazing as what D creates.)

DD and DH love PotC .... DH even waited in the 25 minute line last month to ride it. That kind of shocked me. :lmao: It's okay ... it's a nice ride, but not something I'd put on my must-do list. But I know many people say it's not WDW without riding PotC. :thumbsup2

ROFL..nope I've never done JC!! Of course our March 2011 trip was my first time ever at Disney so I think we can still be friends.....maybe..:scared:...lol.....I promise we will go on it this trip!! (Does that help!??!?) :rotfl:

I think we rode POTC six times on this last trip with only 2 MK days. Yes I would say that we like it a LOT. I would definitely wait 25 minutes to ride it! lol....

Yes D~ is D~ and that means AMAZING!!! lol.....

PotC is one I could take or leave ... so I wasn't too thrilled with a 25 minute wait, but DH really wanted to ride it. :confused3
