Jumping on! WHERE is the World did you see the step-sisters?? That is so cool, I didn't even know they were there. I won a radio contest a few months ago by naming them.

They were behind the castle, just across from the wishing well.

First time I've EVER seen them! We stood in QUITE a line, cause I said Never seen them here before......Never know IF we'll see them again! And haven't since, either........so I'm SO GLAD we got pictures!

I love calling in to radio contests I win all the time, anything from CD's to baseball tickets, I even won a 70 dollar Sox World Championship DVD set for my dad, I would never keep that, It is against the cubs oath.

Not to mention we are SUPPOSED to be packing to move the week AFTER we return from Disney........what GREAT planners we are!! NOT!

I am TRYING to keep my Disney packing seperate from my moving packing....it's QUITE the Circus......

Would be MUCH neater and easier if I wasn't so HOOKED on the DIS! hehehe

How we get so caught up in vacation and getting away.....

and everything is going great.....

Then life jumps up and SLAPS ya in the face!!!!

So.....this afternoon we get a call from my DSIL, who is coming to Disney with us, leaving the kids with us, and she and DBIL are going to spend the week for their 10th wedding anniversary..........

Here, I think she's calling about the trip.......

nooooooo....can't be......can we POSSIBLY get through and have a non-tragedy vacation? Nooooooooooooo

She starts by asking where my DH is.......and is he near his phone?
Okkkkaaaayyyy....doesn't sound good, already.......

So, my DHs gradfather has been sent to the hospital.
This morning he was taken in, they have now done an MRI and found a large tumor on his liver. This is inoperable, and is also blocking his bile ducts. There is nothing they can do, and will not even attempt a stent, because of his age. They are sending him home tomorrow and getting Hospice involved immediately.

The only thing they can tell the family on "how long" is it could be tomorrow, it could be next week, it could be next year. They think he is doing good, because he is still up and moving around....they have told the family that when he starts wanting to lay in bed half the day, then it's time to worry. WHAT?!?!?!

Okay, you can get away with the rest of the family by telling them this.....but I AM in the medical field and KNOW it will not be long. I don't think he will make it the 17 days til our Vacation!

I am just a LITTLE bit freaked out, to say the least!

First.....we didn't purchase vacation insurance!!! We live in Florida, and didn't think there was ANYTHING that would keep us from this vacation!!
Is it too late to purchase it? I'm SURE!!
So......do I call Disney and ask what to do???????

I don't WANT to sound selfish, but I'm actually going to say it.....only because my DSIL actually said it to me, first.
The family is going to do NOTHING but fight through the ENTIRE funeral, straight to the Will!.....So why go?
It would be different if there was actually SOMETHING we could do to help, or there was a GENUINE overall NEED to be together, but when the entire family is doing nothing but FIGHTING over what the man HAD and who's going to get it.......WHY??????
I would RATHER have the DNiece and DNephew at Disney, away from all of that, and enjoying themselves!

How HORRIBLE of a person am I for thinking this????
Even IF we can get our vacation moved and lose no money on it (yeah, fat chance) What good would it be to have 2 small children around all of that?

I feel SO BAD for feeling this way........
I don't know if it's because I've been around death so much in my 20 year career, and have become numb to it, or if I'm just a cold heartless person......

Oh AMY!!! That is terrible!
Hopefully he will make it and you won't have to make those decisions. What does DH say about going now? I can't even imagine how crappy timing this is---but almost the same happened to my best friend last year when her mom died just 11 days before her vacation to San Juan. She kept thinking "I almost hope she goes far enough before I go so I don't miss my trip" but not selfishly--more because ever since her mom found out she had cancer she said " You will NOT miss this trip no matter what" and she was afriad she would be on vacation when she passed. It all worked out. I hope in your case it does also.
I have you in my thoughts.

I WISH we got a free trip!!! I got tix to a really lame show. Cinderella on stick puppets or something like that. Dh took the kids.

I am really sorry to hear the news, hope everything works out for you. I dont want to sound mean, but the vacation might help to bring everyone closer together and ease some of there worries. Our prayers are with you guys.

So, I cried and cried all night......feeling like a HEEL for saying the things I did in the first place, but also because I just don't know WHAT to do.

My DH is at a loss. I believe he's still in complete denial, as this is his last grandparent, and he's lost them all in the past 5 years, alone. Before that, he was a COMPLETE stranger to death of anyone close to him. His boss had to send him home from work, yesterday, as he works on heavy machinery and his boss didn't want him to BECOME part of the product that they make.

We did, however, make it today, to do our Pre-grocery shopping for the trip.....so at this point, he's not letting it waiver his decision on going......or like I said, complete denial that it is happening at all.

Thanks so much for your prayers and thoughts!!! Keep them going, and HOPEFULLY you will still see me and my LGMHPC pigtails at some point!!!!

Well, time for work......I'm going to keep trudging through and pretending that nothing has happened, and hope for the best!

Will TRY to post our grocery/snack list this evening, if work isn't too crazy......

Thank you guys SO MUCH!!

So, the family is now going for a second opinion, and my DHs DGF is still staying in good spirits. We are researching everything we can find and keeping our heads up.

Which brings me to the "executive decision" made by myself, DH and DSIL.

We are going to go through with the trip, either way........so far

Through many discussions and what ifs, we decided that taking Disney away from a 8yo (which it IS her Bday trip) and a 2yo (who will also turn 3 while we are there) is like "cancelling christmas" and none of us think that would be fair to them.

You are right.....a trip away, would be better.
For all of us.

Oooookay......Enough of the sad stuff.
Back to planning.

I checked last night on my passporter.....and it's STILL on hold!!
So I canceled it!
I looked online and found out the some of the Barnes and Nobles carry them instore....so I'm going to run by this afternoon, on my way to work!!!

I have SO MUCH to put in it, I can't WAIT to have something to take my mind off of things....and ultra organizing our Trip is the BESTEST WAY!!! (Ooopss...my OCD is taking over)

Now off to catch up on everyone elses TRs!!! Can I do it???? It's been 2 days since I read ANYTHING......uuuuugggghhhh!!!!

I keep posting on everyone elses thread, and leaving mine......

was just over on FauntleroyFAN07's thread and posting pics of my Puppies....so I decided I SHOULD post them here too!!! Along with our other Furry Family!!!

So here goes.....

This is Pixie....she likes to pretend to be a "gift" under the tree......she's a Lhaso/Yorkie mix, and my BABY......She's been VERY sick with allergies since we moved to Florida, and pulls her furr out constantly...this was one of the bad episodes

And this is Sophie. She's our Australian Shepherd. She was a rescue dog...and we love her to death! Yes, she has 2 different color eyes- 1 blue/1 brown....it adds to her charachter! not that she needs any help.

They are just as spoiled as the rest of the family. They each get stockings and we wrap treats for their gifts, that they open themselves!! It's the kewlest! You just can't put the "wrapped gifts" under the tree before christmas eve, or they find them early.......ya, I learned that the hard way!
Coming home and finding giftwrap all over the livingroom, is always fun though!

And these are our two newest additions...... Ferrets!!! OMG!! I swore I'd NEVER let them have Ferrets, but I must confess they are the sweetest, and just the cutest ever!!! And they get along GREAT with the dogs!!!

I'd like you to "meet" Snickers and Tootsie (roll)

They are quite a handful, but so lovable!

Tootsie is quite the thief....this was just after we caught her stealing an oreo!

I NEVER wanted one!!! And to SOME extent, kinda regret getting them.
Don't get me wrong, they are just the sweetest, and cute as all get out.....but the SMELL....OOOOOHHHHH THE SMELL is INSANE...And we've already had their scent glands removed, but they still just STINK....not cat litter stink....it's oh so much worse!! The cage MUST be cleaned DAILY or you can't even walk down my hallway TOWARDS my daughters room, where their cage is!
Thank Goodness they're so DAGGUMM cute!!!

SO, one of the things I do, to keep myself from getting WAY DOWN about things, is keep myself Busy!!!!

First thing I've done in the past couple days since the GFather news, is send the President of my company a very long, very honest letter......Why I did this at this very moment in time, is BEYOND me!! Temporary Insanity, is the story I'll use, and I'm darn sure gonna STICK TO IT!!!

A little history- I am a Sleep Tech.
I work 2 jobs, for 2 different companies
This particular company, I am the Technical Director of,
and basically just wanted a LITTLE clarification on what the
NEW corporate company that recently "acquired" us had
in mind for bringing in business, and more specific, what
expectations were for me- both for and from.


So this "email" I send, turns into a MEMO......
I get an email back from said El Presidente thanking me for my honesty, and promising "Changes very soon"........Okay....I've heard this from him, IN PERSON before, no biggie, right?

WRONG!!!

This morning, I get a phone call from our Secretary-
"Um, Amy.......Just wanted you to know that we are booked for the week"
What???
I was just there 2 nights ago!! We had NO patients scheduled for next week!
"Well".........:::click, click::::....
All of a sudden, ANOTHER voice on the phone.....
"Hey Girl! Just want you to know, your "MEMO" got me in Hot Water (this is our marketing manager speaking, now).....They've made me get out and "Beat Feet" to the Doctors offices to drum up business"
Okay? Fair Enough.....
"Well I got you the patients, we are booked all week"
Again, WHAT??? ALREADY???
"Ya, they were very serious with me about getting people in here to 'keep you happy'"
Okay, wait.....I'm #1- going to my HAPPY PLACE in 2 weeks, AND #2-moving into a new house.......I didn't mean we need more business RIGHT NOW!

So, I learned a VALUABLE lesson today.
Be CAREFUL what you wish for....you JUST MAY get it!

How VERY Bittersweet!!

NEVER EVER EVER has anyone had so much interest in my opinion....or have I been able to basically "move mountains" like I did in ONE email!

I'm actually REALLY REALLY excited, because I've just been basically GIVEN my answer on what I REALLY mean to this company....which is a GREAT feeling!

But, WOW, I've just given myself quite a load to handle before leaving......

this is on top of packing for Disney, AND packing my ENTIRE house to move the week AFTER we get back from Disney.......

I think I'm going to let my family move into the new house.....

As for myself.....I'm going to move into my own little white padded room....where I can talk to all of the other people that evidently run around in my head and think they are INVINSIBLE!!! They need a good little ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!!!
