Taking the World by Storm! Pre-TR with Pics

Okay, so I've been reading everyone elses TRs and Pre-TRs for about the past 12 hours......and it's made me so excited about our trip, that I figured I'd TRY one of these myself!!!

So first, a little history......

I grew up in FL and have been a Disneyaholic since before I could walk!

We live in Jacksonville (after moving away, and all over the country for approximately 15 years) and now spend time at "the world" approximately once a month....usually just for 2-3 days. This trip is to be the first trip that we've stayed for over a WEEK! We are INCREDIBLY excited!

This is my DH-He is NOT a Disney fan, though I've tried and tried to "convert" him, he's stubborn and sticks to his belief that it is a a "people trap run by a mouse"......like he knows ANYTHING! We just dismiss him as being TOO GROWN UP! and feel really sorry for him. He is only going on this trip because we are bringing the Dniece (8) and the Dnephew (2)......he wouldn't miss time with the Babies for ANYTHING!!! Hopefully they can help the DD and I convince him that it's a MAGICAL place!!!

Next is my DD (19)- She takes after her Mom, in that she is a Disneyaholic, and will go to the World with me ANYTIME she can! She is not only missing work, but her 2nd week of the semester at College, to come on this trip.....have laptop, will do homework from Disney.....should be interesting!

I am in the above pics with each of them, so I won't torture you more with pics of me....lol

We are bringing along our Dniece and Dnephew.....both who will have Bdays while we are there! We brought them with parents to Disney, last year, for a couple days.....they are SO EXCITED about coming back with us for a "long trip" this year!

We are also traveling with some friends, 2 families, with children as well. 2 8yo girls and 1 5yo boy. I will not post their pics, as I have not asked permission.

We are staying at SSR 8/26-9/2/2007, through free upgrades with the Free DDP!! We are SO EXCITED!!! We are actually coming in on 8/25, but staying at ASmo that night, before transferring over.

Okay.....so I've STARTED this Pre-TR.......yay me!!! Time to get ready for work- I work nights, watching people sleep for a living- so I will either try to add more tonight (if I can hijack internet from work) or more tomorrow!

We have made SO MANY PLANS and gotten the kids so much to do in lines, at the hotel, and gifts that HOPEFULLY we won't go broke in the parks!!

Gonna be a stressful and awesome time, rolled into one!!

WILL be missing my BFF, who usually does trips with us.......but she is going the week after we get back, to FWL, so I'm not feeling TOO bad for her....she's goin without me!!!! Not to mention her recent trip to FWCG for 9 days.....again, without us!!! I'm so jealous!

So, my DSIL lives in MiSERY.....and my DFriends live in Michigan.

We did the World May 2006 with the ILs for 2 days.
We did the World October 2006 with the DFs for about 4 days.

We wanted to spend the vacation with them again......but how?

So....my DSIL calls me and says "Guess what?" We're coming to Florida for our 10th anniversary, and YOU"RE keeping the kids for us!!!

Okay...you just don't know HOW excited we were to hear this!! Those kids are ALL 3 (Me, DH and DDs) of our lives!!! We moved back to FL about 3 1/2 years ago, and have only seen them twice since then!! Very heartbreaking!! So.....what did we decide we'd do while they were here for a week? DISNEY, OF COURSE!!!! Plans BEGIN to form---

THEN- Our DFs email me with "Guess what---I've talked the DH into doing Disney again....I think....How's Mid August for you?"

RUH ROW!!! NOT GOOD!!!! The ILs are coming End of August!!! None of us can take off 2-3 weeks!!! UUGGHHH!!! What to do WHAT TO DO!?!??!?!!
We LOVE our friends to Death!!! And their Children are the Bestest too!!!! My DD is almost 20, so we LIVE vicariously through our siblings and friends with their small children! We take ALL children under our wings....and spoil them Rotten.....My DD has even gotten into it, as well! Not that she's NOT spoiled......but she now takes part in spoiling all the little ones WITH US! It's just WAY TOO MUCH fun!!

Okay, So I email our friends and BEG!!! You hear me? BEG them to change their dates to end of August.......they think about it.

TA DAH!!! The Fairy Dust gets sprinkled, all the way from FL to Michigan.......because the next thing we hear-- FREE DDP!!!!!
This sealed the deal!! They were coming!!! YAYYY!!!!!

My DF has a Disney Visa, so she made ALL the ressies under her name, for ASmo. What an awesome person!!

We went back and forth on whether to stay at ASmo or POR. More room-cheaper price....more room/with a fridge......cheaper price.........we finally settled for cheaper price.....what did we really need a fridge for? We have FREE DDP!!!! Plenty for us!!! YAY!!!! We're really doin it!!!

Then the bomb drops!!!
My DF's DH is a police officer and has been offered a new job. With the new job, he isn't sure he can take vacation until AFTER our ressies......so he may not be able to come.....but he tells her "even if I can't, you go anyway", "Have fun"........so we continue to make plans.

Back and forth, back and forth.....until his boss tells him "No Way" you can't have the week off. It's POLICY!! BUMMER!!!!

Through her emails and phone calls, she tells me how down and out he is that he's not going to be able to come.........and how bummed she is that he won't be able to come..........but she's trudging on, and has enlisted her DMIL to come with her to help with kids. My DH is not happy either. He Loves, let me tell you LOVES the DFs, DH!!! "Not enough testosterone in our group.......Rob needs to come!" We have had so much fun with these people on previous vacations....it will definately be different without Rob. But we are still gonna go...and have fun!

In this, she has another set of friends, who want to come too. The MORE the MERRIER!!!!

Now, we have to add to our ADRs, or change to find restaurants that are still available......between the two of us calling and making/switching reservations, I'm SURE the CMs were crossing their eyes and cursing us good!!

We now have several nights that we have seperate ressies, about 20 minutes apart, several nights that we have a ressie, but it's short 1 person, or over 1 person....and a COUPLE that are just right......we're gonna go with that and just hope for the best when we check in!

So, I've rambled enough for one day.......and I've barely gotten STARTED on our Disney Saga!

Stressful.....Confuzzling......Exciting......Depressing.......Entertaining??? That, I still don't know.....let me know!!!!

Okay, so I left off last night with our ADRs being done.......

Our Hotel Ressie's made.......

Then we get an email....

"Congrats, you are being upgraded to SSR free of charge"
SCORE!!!!!!

Sidenote--My BFF and I have a goal to try to stay at EVERY resort, atleast ONCE....
We have made it through all the Values, All the Moderates, and a couple of the Deluxes.
I have NEVER stayed at one of the DVC sites!!! AND I've never been to Disney this long!!!

Even though she and family won't be with us this trip, it'll still be lots of fun!! Besides, she's doin FWL without ME!!! I'm SO JEALOUS and BUMMED.....but it's the weekend after we leave, and there's just NO WAY that I can get a 3rd weekend off in the same month!!! We'll just have to plan another trip, another time....to make it there.

Back to my Pre-Trippie--

So we've gotten the unthinkable, and were upgraded from value to a 1BR condo, with a kitchen!! We are so excited!!!

But still no Rob coming with us......

My ILs will be at Disney WHILE we are, but are not going to be WITH us......it's our week with the Kids.

They have been invited to join us for a couple charachter meals, and the boys (My DH and DBIL) have decided that one of the days, they are going to "Drink our way around the world". They'll have a great time!! I'm happy for them.......but still no Rob, bummer....they have actually given him all but 2, count them TWO days off in that week....but won't budge on those T W O days!!! And they are in the MIDDLE of the WEEK......we all HATE his boss at this point!!

Other than that, the ILs are spending QUALITY time together, while we have QUALITY kid time!! Everybody wins!!! Cept Rob....

FAST FORWARD--- cause I just can't hold it in anymore-- LAST WEEK, our DF, Jodi, gets a call from her DH........his boss has had a change of heart!!!! He gets the week off!!! So, Jodi begins scrambling to get ANOTHER plane ticket, so Rob can go!!! We add him to the boy's "Drinking around the World" plans.....he sure NEEDS it at this point! And my DH is HAPPY that there will be more Adult Testosterone to help him get through the week. (Did I mention he is NOT a Disney Fan, and is only coming because the Babies will be there)....the DD and I are hoping that if we expose him to enough of it, he'll LEARN to love it.......so far it hasn't happened. :

Things are coming together!!!!

*Ressies made, and paid for.
*ADRs made......
*Gifts are bought for all the kids (way too many, I might add)..
*I've bought all the kids disposable cameras.....
*Have put together scrapbook kits, to teach the girls how to crop, and get them started on their very first Disney Scrapbook!!!
*Activities planned to keep kids "HAPPY" while in line
*Pins bought for trading!! A MUST
*We've got a tentative- day by day- schedule made (coming soon)

Now all that's left is
1) Grocery list for Breakfasts and park snacks- WE HAVE A KITCHEN!!!!
2) Last minute "needs" (I have a pre-packed "going away" kit with travel size EVERYTHING from 1st aid kit to hairspray.....we travel quite a bit
3) Packing......uuuuuuuggghhhhh
OH!! And, I didn't mention-
4) Bake a cake for the DNiece, for her Birthday celebration- and have to call Disney to see if they have somewhere for us to store it for atleast the first night when we will be at ASmo.
And NOW- (found this out last night- the ILs have been talking up the Bdays to the 2yo, so he's looking forward to a "party" too.....may have to take my Cake decorating supplies, and make his cake while we are down there....I DON"T want to do that!!!!!)

No much left to do in.......30 days?!?!?!?! HOW THE HECK AM I GONNA GET IT ALL DONE?!?!?!?!?!!!

Time for bed.....just got home from watching others sleep....it's my turn......

Okay......so we've got an itenerary!!! WOO HOOO!!!!
I LOVE when things are organized!!! My DH will tell you it makes me CRAZY, which in turn makes HIM crazy.....but I LIKE having things planned out!!
Mind you.....we don't always FOLLOW everything....the spontaneous/rebel side of me peaks out and I end up WAY in left field, many times....but atleast we HAD it planned before we started!!! Yes, my name SHOULD be SYBIL sometimes!!! hehehehe

So....here's my stab at it- If anyone is going during the time we are there......LOOK FOR US!!!


Saturday: Get off work 630am- DH and DD pick me up at work, cause it's closer to Disney that me driving home and picking them up (20 whole minutes round trip....HEY that's 20 minutes of Disney time I'd be wasting!!!!)
OFF TO DISNEY!!!!!
Get to ASmo, and try to check in......atleast park there, so we can hit a quick park before the rest of the crew flies in!
Probably AK, to hit an early morning EE before the lines start!
Then back to the hotel to meet with some of our party (the ones from MI)
They do not have tickets for the parks until Sunday, so we plan to veg at the pool all day and hit DTD in the evening.....A WONDERFUL start to a very BUSY week! We'll be goin NUTZ trying to figure out if we should try and do a park in the evening before the kids come tomorrow!!!


Sunday: Wake up early- Check out of ASMo and have them send our luggage to SSR!!! Head to AK !!! Our ILs will not be here yet, as they are driving from MO, so we can do some stuff that the baby (2yo) can't ride....Wait for their phone call so we can get the babies!!!! Haven't seen them in almost a year and a half!!! Once we meet up with them, take the babies and head back to AK and the rest of our party til around 4:00. Head over to CR for dinner at Chef Mickey's (ressies between 5-530) then to MK for EMH!! WOW The energy we'll have today!!!

Monday: Early up to get kids ready and fed....Head over to MK where we plan to stay til after Dreams come true parade....then over to MGM for afternoon and to meet with the ILs for dinner at 50's Primetime at 6:55. spend rest of eve at MGM. Still feeling pretty good, but bet the kids will be gettin tired already.

Tuesday: Up EARLY to get kids ready and fed.....Epcot for EMH- Hit big attractions,that are open- then head over to MGM for Stars and cars motor parade at 3:00. Dinner(3:40-4:10) Fantasmic Package (the restaurant escapes me at the moment- Italian one, I THINK) and Fantasmic. I'm sure we may be heading back to the room half way through by this day.....nappies for the babies!!!

Whew, I'm Tired ALREADY!!

Wednesday: Up EARLY....are we surprised?!?! Pack everyone up....cause I'm SURE we'll be dragging at this point, and head to MK all morning and part of afternoon.....early afternoon, head to Epcot for dinner 5:00- Garden Grill (this is when the guys get a break and for the rest of the evening get to drink their way around the world until 9:00 when park closes) The girls are going to take the kids, hit a few more attractions til 7:00 and then call it an early night or we can hop to MK. This will probably end up being the "early night" for the kids because it is in the middle of the week and Thurs. will be a long day! Not to mention how POOPED we are gonna be!! If I could talk my DD into taking the kids, I'd be "One of the Guys" and drink my way around the world too....what fun!!! But I couldn't mess up their "Guy Time" AND the girls would be jealous, too!! hehehe....We'll just CONGREGATE at one of our places, and make it a Margarita evening!!! Let the kids have a Slumber Party that night! Okay, HONESTLY- After this much inthe first half a week- 1 margarita, and I'm outtie!!!! ZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!

Thursday: Guess what? EARLY UP!! Head over to AK in the morning til around 4:00, jammin' jungle parade IF we want to stay that long, then off to MK for dinner at crystal palace-640 ressies. Stay after dinner for spectromagic at 9:00 and wishes at 10:00. Late night. I LOVE watching Tink fly!!! Hope the weather is good!! I don't care HOW TIRED I am at this point... GOIN TO WATCH TINK FLY!!!

Friday: OMG!!! We're sleeping in!!! well.....atleast we are letting the kids sleep in and use the pool for the morning and early afternoon. Get the kids pictures developed and hopefully have time to start the girls on their scrapbooks. Got Logan, our 5yo boy a photo album so he can do his pictures too......knew his dad would say "Too Girly" to the scrapbooking idea! Maybe hit DTD and go to Epcot for the late afternoon and for dinner 6:40 ressie at Coral Reef!! and EMH
Gonna be an awesome day!! Just chilling time with friends and family!!!

Saturday: Early up....but the DNiece and DNephew are leaving us today.....MGM early magic hours, for rest of group...we may miss them to send the babies off and meet up with everyone else afterward.......then epcot eve for LE CELLIER DINNER 7:40 BABAY!!!!!!!! after dinner hit illuminations! I'll probably cry atleast half the day today--not nearly enough time with the kids!

Sunday:
Breakfast at Ohana 810 ressies- Check out....Bummer.....say goodbye to our MI friends, and probably head to another park, or DTD before heading home....we only have a 2 hour drive, so we have the rest of the day to play.......if we aren't TOO EXHAUSTED!! If too tired, check out-head home!

Hey Jess!!! So I'm doin good so far? It's FUN!!! Just a new spin on our obsession!! Sharing the planning!! How kewl!!!

AK it is Michelle!! Whatcha bet we end up running into each other on EE!!! My Daughter LOVES IT!!! My DH and I, sadly, haven't made it on it yet.....we're gonna make up for it on this trip though!!! We're Rollercoaster JUNKIES!!!! Before EE opened, we would plan an evening at MGM, so that we ALWAYS his RNR right before Fantasmic started.....I can tell you by EXPERIENCE that you can ride RNR 7 times in a row, in the time it takes everyone else to see Fantasmic-no lines-no waiting-no problem! We love TOT too, but haven't tested that theory cause we can't stay off RnR long enough!

Anyone else going to be at any of the parks while we are there??
We LOVE meeting new people!

Got lots of catching up to do on everyone elses TRs, and limited time to do it.....tons to do today before work!!!

Surprise Surprise.....Disney is going through some "New and Improved" Computer Enhancement, and can't look at my ressies right now...."but the 2yo shouldn't matter, he's still considered an infant".........I still want him on the ressie....get it?

So, I have to call back tomorrow.

TC- I didn't ignore your invite!! I jus dunno yet...and, AND, I'm not goin up against YOUR family! There's WAY TOO MANY of them, and they're VERY possessive!! They wanna go to Disney, with ya'll, they're goin! Not to mention....how freakin hot was it there???? I dunno......I would have to upgrade to annual passes, and deal with summer crowds....gonna take a LOT of convincing me.......I'd rather do a week during the winter/spring!!!!

Wow!!! Things have been CRAZY this weekend!!

Found myself on Disney.com, shopping....bad BAD idea!
Ended up with SEVERAL more shirts.....that I really DIDN"T need....but were so cute, and on SALE!

THEN after a trip to the OUTLET store.....I was REALLY in trouble!!
Finished up the kids, though:
List for daily "gifts" and "things to do" for the kids-

Scrapbook Kits for girls-on our "down day" gonna teach them to scrapbook with their Disney Pics!! I am SOOOO Excited!

T-Shirts for all-Princess and Tink for girls, Little Einstein for Coop (on sale, disney.com)

PJs for all (on sale, disney.com)

Costume "accessories" for kids- We are not going to the Pirate and Princess Party, but the kids are still going to get to dress up, and possibly going to let the girls to Bippity Boppity Boutique before one of our dinners

Bubbles, Sidewalk Chalk, New Autograph books (actually just Disney Journals from the dollar store) If you happen to see "chalk marks" in the lines, you know we've been there! Granted Disney doesn't kick us out for Vandalism...hehehe

"Best Friends" necklaces for the girls-Disney outlet

Cups for all-I found regular cups with lids, friend found Disney ones- so they end up with 2 each


Towels for all(on sale, disney.com)

Bags for all on sale, disney.com- originally just for their pool stuff, but since have decided to use them for their stuff going into parks

Made tiaras for all girls too Had to throw my own "creativity" in there

There is SO much more, but my head is spinning just THINKING about packing the car to take it down-We have now decided to rent an SUV to drive!

Jody and Dana have also gotten TONS of stuff for the kids....we are going to have some SPOILED Disney Kids! And I LOVE IT!

I have become SOOOO disorganized!

Mind you, we are planning/packing for Disney, AND Packing up our entire house to move....the week AFTER we get back from vacation!
AMAZING how life works.......We've been planning the vacation for over a year, and have not even PLANNED on buying a house....until this one "fell" into our laps just over a month ago. Of course, it all comes crashing together a week apart!!!

I am SO EXCITED and STRESSED at the same time!!!! CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!!

Just Gotta get it together!
Off to make a cake.....must have 2 done by Wednesday! Oh!! Did I mention that we are also taking Cake classes in the midst of this?!?!?! I have to have 2 cakes a week, baked and decorated! No extra pressure, there! And yes, I normally work 6 nights a week.......if I SURVIVE this, I'll be SUPERWOMAN!!!
