Taking the Magical Express bus, but checking in luggage at DTD

Hi,

We'll be staying at POR this December.

On the last day, we intend to check in our luggage at DTD (Virgin Holidays).

But we don't want to use the free Virgin transfer to Orlando Airport as we find that it doesn't leave DTD early enough, and we always seems to be rushing to catch our plane.

We'd like to take the Magical Express bus instead.

If staying at a Disney resort, can you use the ME buses, even if you're not taking luggage?

Also, do the ME buses go at specific times of the day?

Any info would be very much appreciated.

You can check in your luggage at DTD and use DME (assuming you have pre-booked DME). 2-3 days before your DME pickup you will get notification at your disney hotel of your scheduled pickup time ut for some this can be quite early given you will have already checked in your luggage.
