Now I know these things are really freaking delicious that you want to eat them on the spot...and I'll probably buy one to do that BUT has anyone ever traveled home with one? You should be able to take it through airport security RIGHT?? I'm not really opposed to putting it in my checked luggage but then I'm sure the icing on top will get all messed up from being tossed around.

Also wondering if anyone has froze one. I would like to bring 1 or more home but we're only doing 1 day at Universal which will probably be middle of our trip and I don't want the thing to get dried out so I thought about sticking it in the freezer until the morning we leave (which is really early and then I believe I'm home by 10:30 am). I have a friend who swears by freezing other regular donuts and says they taste the same... but I wonder.. do they really?

I've taken them home in my carry-on the last couple of trips and have had no problems. They are a little bit bulky (and you do need to try to keep them upright so as not to mess up the frosting), but there was no problems with security.

I believe that I've read of people freezing them, but won't swear to it.

The one I brought home tasted a tad stale two and a half days later

Next time I’ll bring a gallon size freezer zip lock back to put the donut it and then tape the box

Less squishing the donut when it’s in the box and my check in luggage

That's a great idea! I never thought about putting it in a zip lock bag first.
I plan to bring a tote bag to use as a carry-on for the way home so I can keep them upright.

Also had no problem taking it through security in my carry on. Bought on Mon, ate Wed / Thurs. Wed it was perfectly fine, Thurs was not quite so fresh.
