Taking strollers on shuttles

Hi everyone, I was wondering what we will do with our double stroller every time we get on and off disney shuttles?? Thanks, Vanessa

We had our kids out of the stroller and had it already folded up and we were ready to board. On occasisions that we didnt get it folded fast enough, the driver waited or helped us. I tried to carry the baby and the stroller up the bus steps and almost fell backwords...If someone offers help, take it. I was slightly silly.

Disney buses require you to fold up the strollers - only exceptions I can think of would be a stroller used as a wheelchair, which would have a GAC, and have to be strapped down in the wheelchair spots. Other resort shuttles? I don't know, but I don't think you could get a double stroller up the bus stairs and into the aisle if it wasn't folded up!

yes. and yes.

there are lots of 'low' buses at wdw now and it's much easier to get on with a double.

Well, the exception would be the ferries. If you were boarding a boat from Swan/Dolphin or the Boardwalk to MGM, or WL to MK, you might be able to get a double on the back, but probably not the front (I've never tried a double, but have rolled singles on the ferries). Also, from TTC to MK, the ferry would be the way to go. I've seen frustrated and embarassed people try to get a double on the monorail only to have to remove and pass off their children and belongings and collapse the stroller while people around them scowled because they were holding things up.

Lots of people do have strollers on the buses, but it can be a chore to quickly remove a (sometimes sleeping) child, collapse the stroller, and board the bus. This is one of the main reasons I believe in renting strollers. I bring a stroller for the airports, and for convenient occasions (strolling the Boardwalk, walking to Epcot, ferry travel) but leave it in the room when a bus is involved.

We stayed at a DTD hotel and their buses have a flat area behind the seats in back that we put our stroller on if we were able to otherwise yes you must hold the stroller.

I wouldn't want to deal with a double stroller on the buses! Try and rent if possible--or use umbrella double stroller-that might be easier.

we took our double stroller last year, had to fold it to get on the bus, which has only 2 or 3 steps==we try to head to the back to get out of peoples way, plus we took the stroller to haul our stuff, which you have to unload to get the stroller folded, this year we are having our items shipped back to the room, didnt think of that last year!!! have fun.

We just skipped the folding of the stroller, got there early and one of us walked to the transit center or entrance while the other one rode with whatever kids wanted to ride.

At DL we were able to take it on without folding it just had to take the kids out, loved that!

On the BUSES, you'll have to take the kids out and fold it up.

On the parking lot TRAMS, you might not have to fold it up, (depending on how crowded the tram is) but you'll have to have the kids sit on the tram seats, out of the stroller.

we've always had to fold our single strollers up on the bus systems but never on the monarail.

I'm wondering why we would need to fold double up on monorail?? Is it really that much longer and I'm just not remembering?

I'm getting really nervous about this whole double stroller ordeal . ..

We bought a Mac Triumph just for this reason... and it worked out perfectly. Very easy to quickly fold up and was very light. We folded it up for the buses... but kept DD in her stroller for the ferry and monorails.

One of the main reasons we decided to rent a double stroller at the parks rather than take our own was the problem of buses. We willingly traded off carrying our 2 pre-schoolers (if necessary) to the buses at the end of a long day rather than deal with trying to wedge a big folded stroller into a crowded bus, or worse having to wait for the next bus.

I was leaning towards taking our own (it's a sit and stand model), but the boss, um ... I mean my dear dear wife, talked me into renting. As always, she was right (I HATE THAT!!! )
I remember seeing parents on crowded buses dealing with their folded up strollers, and I also remember seeing people lugging their strollers up and down the steps at CBR.

For some people carrying their kids to and from the buses is a pain, and they take their own strollers. For us, we preferred carrying our kids instead. Besides, our 5 year old and 2.5 year old walked to the buses at the resort, and from the buses at the park entrance upon arrival. About the only tims we actually carried them were when they were all tuckered out later in the day. Sure, my little one got a little heavy towards the end, but I found it nice to have her melt into me.

Any and all strollers must be folded for the tram.

If it is crowded...and the kids aren't sleeping--it is polite if possible to fold it up.

We've used the accessible car. I had a double jogger...and wanted to roll it on. It was very crowded...so by myself with 2 kids under 5...it was going to be a squeeze and challenging collapsing and getting into a regular car.

However--I was told..and I obeyed...that when a wheel chair came along, that obviously they get the priority. As soon as one showed up, I immediately got the kids out of the stroller and folded it. I didn't want to wait for another car....and the stroller would have only fit on one side unfolded.

A tandem double will fit in any of the monorail cars unfolded. However at peak times, it can be difficult to get into the position to be able to get yourself inside--and it could be a matter of folding it and go now or not folding it and waiting for the next monorail.

Aside from the jogging stroller--I've never had to fold a stroller unless I was doing it out of consideration so that perhaps a large group could fit their entire party on after we were already on board.
