I haven't gone to Disney with my Mom since I was about 9! Not to mention that we haven't been on vacation with just each other since I turned 18! I was just wondering what special Mom and Daughter things to do at Disney. I usually go solo or with the guys I date, so hopefully Mom will be my new constant companion to the World!

I was thinking about the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian, but was unsure of which tea choice would be best.

We are going to Food and Wine and our trip is in late Oct.

Thanks in advance!

When I brought my mother to WDW as an adult, I took a whole different approach. First, we bypassed the favorite rides because she had no desire to get on SM or BTMR and other coasters. This saved tons of time. As we entered each park, I got a schedule of shows and made a point to see as many as possible which meant we sat alot during the day(which she really needed to do). I also would let her sit and rest during other times while I'd grab snacks and refreshments for both of us. That was my first trip that I stopped to smell the roses and did some people watching with her, and it turned out to be lots of fun and relaxing!!

I would be sure to see all of the "shows". from the one in front of the castle to Fantasmic....Plus, maybe a character meal--of her choice...Enjoy the magic and the special time..

:) Going with my Mom and Dad for the first time this year. My DH and I go yearly and this year they are taking the trip with us. For her birthday this weekend I have bought her a Vera Bradley Mini Hipster with pocket wallet to carry her things around the park (she will be 65). I have also purchased MVMCP tickets for all of us and will give them their tickets for their anniversary 10/09. We have reservations at California Grill for Fireworks and will buy them dinner at Fultons. These are the special things I have planned. I gave my Dad a 2008 Pass Porter for his birthday last year and will buy him an inexpensive digital camera for his birthday this year 11/2 ( he will be 71). They have been to Disney but not since 1997 ( were there the day AK opened). I am really planning this because life goes by so fast and I want this trip to be terrific as well as relaxing for them.

Last year I went to the GF tea with my MIL and we had a wonderful time. i think we got Earl Gray tea, the basics--scones were pretty good and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We also did a Christmas tour (Yuletide Fantasy) which was fun. The MNSSHP was a great hit with the in-laws when we went in 2004. I agree, do all the shows and let her go at her own pace.

have a wonderful time making those magical memories with your Mom.;)
