Taking my husband for his first visit to MK

15 days and counting - I am so excited. I get to take all my boys - 3, 5 and 40 for their first visit. My husband has never even been to an amusement park - any tips for a 40 year old's first time?

I took my 30 year old DBF one time and he felt completely over-stimulated the 1st day.

I'd follow his lead, offering suggestions on what to do, but we wary if he gets a glazed look in his eye and see if he needs a break.

Wow, never been to an amusement park and your first trip is Disney!! That is just incredible and at 40--there really should be a special button for that. I agree with the previous poster. Just take your time and enjoy, you can always go back---a lot-- if he has a good time. I would think just a basic plan each day would be fine. We are going to this pasrk and then eat here, blah, blah, blah. Pleeeeeze give us a trip report. I am sure it will be fun.

Let him design a map for himself and go slow.

Last year, I helped 3 different families plan their Disney vacations, none of them had ever been before.

Since we're all from NY, and they were all staying on-site for several days, they had to learn everything all at once... Magical Express, transportation around the world, tickets, hoppers, Advance Dining Reservations, the Dining Plan, Fast Passes, Extra Magic Hours, etc. I told them, their first day would be confusing, but by the second day... they would be pros!

ALL the of the adults said, at some point during their first day, they were ready to go home! But... by the second day, it just "clicked" and all fell into place.

Go slow and take it easy. Have a touring plan in mind and choose what you think they'll enjoy the most, hit the popular attractions first thing in the morning and use FP, BUT... be ready to toss the plans and just go with the flow!

Take time to allow them to discover the magic at their own pace!

okay - I am so excited - only 10 more days to go! can you tell me if you think my plan is a good one. It is my first time back since 1992.

We have 2 boys (3 and 5) and will be spending 2 days in MK (Sept 17 and 19) so on the first day, even if we only have 3-4 hrs in the morning and then come back for 3-4 hours in the evening I think we should be okay.

Day 1 - We hope to arrive early for the rope drop - go to fantasyland and then toontown.

Leave the park by 12:30pm (at the latest) go back to the condo for some quiet time

Return around 4pm for frontierland, adventureland and fireworks (8pm).

We will come back the second day to tomorrowland and use the CoP and the People Mover as our break this day since we do not have an out of the park break planned as we would like to see the 3pm parade.

After the 3pm parade - see anything we missed or go back to a favorite or 2.

Does the above sound okay? Thanks so much for any input.
