Taking my DD to Disneyland! Would love advise!

I'm new to this site, but found it during a search and was really impressed.

I'm taking my daughter to Disneyland September 18-23.

I wanted to know if anyone had any tips or advice or anything.

We are flying in, and planing to have family or the shuttle bring us to the hotel.

We are staying at Motel 6 right across the street.

Does anyone know what the hours are at during that time?

Does anyone know what the weather is usually like? everything I found said mid 80's during the day 60's at night? does that sound correct?

Are there still fireworks at this time? Their website says the special ones end.

Also any idea on clothing? I have made my daughter a Minnie mouse jumper dress for one day. I made a tutu for another day. Do you think a tutu is a little much for Disneyland though?

How wonderful, she will have a ball and you to !!! the clothing sounds adorable and no the tutu is not a little much, its cute to see children dress up!
Motel is across from the park, but not the main gate ( the other end ) so you will have to take a shuttle to the parks, that good be a good thing and a bad thing. ( a closer motel would be way better) but many use the shuttle service so at least you have that.
I will go look up hours from last year, but I am assuming the parks will close much earlier .....say 10:00 for disnyland and way earlier for DCA.
the fire works go off on weekends after august ( anyone confirm this? ) but the other fire works display was in my opinion much much better so you will not miss much.
Im sure if I am off on things others will chime in. HAve a great time!!!!!

DL calendar is only out 6 weeks so you'll have to wait a couple more weeks to get the entertainment schedule.

Hours for Sept from previous years:
DL: M-Th 10-8, Fri. 9-11, Sat. 8-12, Sun. 9-10
DCA: M-Th 10-6, Fri-Sat. 10-9, Sun. 10-8

Fireworks: Fri-Sun (9:25)
Fantasmic: Fri-Sat (usually 2 shows Sat.)

Weather will be nice, be prepared for warmer than 80s. It's not unheard of to be 100 degrees.

Tutu will be fine for DL. There will be many little girls running around in princess dresses.

We went in Sept last year and the weather was perfect. Warm but not unbearable -- we didn't "seek out" air conditioning but it was appreciated when we found it. I would say 80s is about right. Keep a jacket or sweatshirt for nights and some early mornings. Fireworks should be on the weekends. The hours are shorter but we like that because we aren't morning people and don't feel like we are wasting part of the day by not getting up early. The parks last year were not very crowded. Not sure about this year because of the 5 nights for the price of 3 promotion ends Sept 26 and I think it "encouraged" more people to come to Disneyland.

The tutu will be adorable. Lots of little kids dress up. Just know that some of the rides and seat areas are kind of dirty and she might have to step into her seat so nothing that you will be sad to have dirt/grease get on and nothing that doesn't let her move freely.

I have 2 daughters and if yours is into the princesses you might want to consider the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and a meal at Ariel's Grotto.

I'm sorry but I can't help but add it depends on how old your daughter is. I didn't see her age in your post. If she's 4, a tutu is cute, if she's 13 then, yes, I think it is a little too much!

Actually I did see a girl around age 12 or 13 in line at the trams dressed like Tinkerbell with wings and everything. I wondered about what they would say about it. Later when I saw her in the park, she still had on the green dress but took off the wings. Those wings would have gotten in the way of rides anyway.

But serioulsy, comfort should be the main thing. I have been there very very hot in shorts and have seen little girls dressed up in long princess dresses and I'm sure they must be pretty hot. Hopefully parents who bring princess dresses for the girls also bring other things to change into the girl wants to.
I have two boys, so that has never been an issue for us.

It is exactly this attitude that led Disney security to tell me that I had to take off my tutu when I went to the parks a few weeks back. I told them that there is nothing wrong with a middle-aged man wanting to feel pretty and I had already left my Snow White dress at home because of their "no adults in costumes" rule. They had no empathy at all, and told me to take off the tutu. Fortunately I was wearing cargo shorts over my pink sparkly tights, so I didn't look like a complete idiot as I walked through the parks.

I say if your daughter is 13, let her wear whatever she wants, even if it is feety pajamas. If the Disney cops don't stop her, it's all good.
