Taking food into the park

I think there are huge differences in a theme park counter service "restaurant" and a, usually, reservation needed sit down being waited on table service restaurant at a theme park. Every park I've ever been to that have counter service type restaurants, those places always seem to be dual use almost. Yes, you can come in, order a meal and sit and enjoy it AND you can sit, cool off, regroup, eat your popcorn you bought at a stand, feed your small child a snack or sandwich in the cool to keep them from breaking down, whatever. It's a theme park!!! That's why there are counter service places. It's ridiculous to think that Disney would allow, a much more lenient system than most theme parks, of letting people bring in outside food at all, but especially allowing a wide selection of food like entire lunches and drinks and then expect them not to have a place to partake of them.

Does anyone have the link on the Disney website discussing bringing your own food that can be posted?

I used to be able to find in writing on the Disneyworld website in the FAQ section of dining that you could bring your own food and could find in writing on the Disneyland website that you could not bring your own food into those parks. I looked last week and couldn't find it on either. Have they removed the info or moved it on me?
It was easier to find by using Google than it was by using the search function on the Disney website. Go figure that one!

Sounds like the only park where there aren't very many choices is DHS.

About half our trips I like to pack our lunches and then we do a table service for dinner. After 12 days in the fall on the QSDP, by day 5 all I wanted was my packed lunch.

DHS does have plenty of spots to enjoy a lunch ---

- Along Echo Lake just across from H&V there are tables with umbrellas.

- Last trip DS and I sat on a bench just outside the exit from Backlot Tour and enjoyed our lunch while the Stunt Show was happening. Wasn't quiet but we got to see the cars as they raced behind the buildings by us. Once you start to look around there are benches everywhere in the park.

- There are umbrella tables outside Pizza Planet and some of them are across the walkway from the restaurant. Most people I see sitting in those are not eating but rather having a snack or just resting.

- Past Studio Catering Co and past the bar there are a few tables tucked into a garden like area. It's probably overflow for the restaurant but often the tables are not being used.

- If you hit the Streets of America there are plenty of brownstone stoops that make a great spot to have lunch and very often there is shade happening.

- Backlot Express is a counter but has several eating areas outside. One section is actually inconvenient to those eating at restaurant and using the fixins/drink station. It is all the way over by the Indiana Jones side and you have to walk around the fence and vehicle if coming out of restaurant so it's usually it's empty. This is right at lunch time during Star Wars Weekend - empty.

Thank you very much! It does appear to have been moved from the Dining Info to the Theme Park and Water Park info on the WDW site. I also found the link for DLR that states no outside food or drink is allowed to be brought into the park. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/dining/#dining-outside-food

Hard to believe its the same company :confused3 but I've had to help more than one person with this difference between the parks.

Thanks again for your help finding that.
