Taking food into parks?

Yeah i've never had a problem what so ever bringing outside stuff in. It really does save on money. I got back from DL a few days ago and I saw loads of people bring in their own food. Even while waiting at the Hyperion for the Aladdin show families were sitting on the ground eating home made sandwhiches, bottled juices, carrot sticks and crackers.

Where is Great America?

Great America is in Santa Clara CA. The people who own Knotts just bought them last year. Its been around for 30 years (makes me feel OLD) It's a nice park with a huge water park which my kids LOVE. If you google Great America you can see it.

Does anyone know if you can take in food from DTD into DL/DCA? For example, could you buy jamba juice and drink it throughout the parks?

Yes you can. Last time I was there I got a large drink and drank it all over the park. May have to throw your sweater over it if you ride in on the monorail. :rolleyes1

Just to add, we were told that you also can't bring in aluminum cans. And, actually, my highly prized mt. dew was confiscated at the "border"! Grrr!
I had a backpack that included, among other things, snacks. And, a soft sided cooler at the bottom of the stroller that held drinks. The only issue I had was that I couldn't bring in a can.
I heard, from a family that was nearby, that they learned that one the hard way, after walking from DL to the stores over on Harbor and bought a bunch of stuff, including a number of 6 packs of soda cans, to take back to DLH. They were stopped and not allowed to bring them through.

IS this a new rule about cans? When we were there in May, we brought in about a 6-pack everytime.

BTW loved "Marriotts" Great America as a kid!!!! I still call it Marriotts to this day and people dont always know what im talking about. I loved the Turn of the Century which is now the demon I believe. I havent been there in 10 years or more!

picnic lockers are located on the DL entrance side of the park off the mickey and friends tram. So come off the tram and go to the left. You will see a sign that says picnic area. These lockers are huge..
I was placed in one....

We still call it Marriotts, eventhough it's been call Paramounts. It's still Paramounts eventhough it's been bought out.

Security is so tight at Great America because they had huge problems for a while. They had issues with gangs and weapons about 15+ years ago (I think.) I have been going all summer long for almonst my whole (literally) and now I take my kids, but for quite some time it was plagued with problems. when i was about 12 my little sister got hit in the face by a group of older teens stealing a purse. Accoriding the the security, it was a common problem. Now it is much nicer. We haven't had any problems except with teens working the parking booth swearing like sailors on multiple occasions. (3 already this year)
