Hi all
A few friends have just come back from DLRP and said that when they were going into the park, and having their bags checked, that security removed all fod and drink items from their bags including crisps / rolls etc

This has me worried as i'd like to take a large bottle of water, snacks like raisins etc for DS when we go in April.
Does anyone know if this is standard or if they were just unlucky in some way?

thanks

I think they were very unlucky, as I've always has crisps, sweets, croissants, and even small bottles of juice in my bag, security check has seen them, and never said a word!

Never had any problems or seen people having food taken off them :confused3

We always take our own water (it is cheaper) and small snacks for the kids

You shouldnt have any trouble :goodvibes

99% of the bag checkers don't even look into the bags properly, they're just going through the motions.

I had a bag that had three different (and very obvious) zipped compartments, and all of the people who checked my bag over three days (several visits a day) just peeked into one compartment.

I'm not really sure why they bother with a security check, what are they checking for? I could have had all kinds of contraband/weapons - no way they would have found them.

Like others I've never encountered any problems, it really is a cursory check over or has been. Unless we hear from another recent visitor that the policy has changed I wouldn't worry too much. :)

I once saw security checking a water bottle from one quest. He then had to drink from this bottle. But afterwards he could take the bottle into the park.

Never had any problems with food, drink etc. Always take some with us for the kids especially...

When we last went there in July last year, the security stopped a guy and found he had a small knife with him. They took the knife away for obvious reasons while the guy argued with them telling them he had the knife on him in the past few days whilst in the park... That tells us how bad security is...

Last week we'd got bottles of juice, crisps, sweets, home made cheese and onion pie - thermos cups we'd filled with warm drinks - they all went through fine. Its a cursory look at your bags.

I got a more disgusted look when I had a piece of the pie and some of the pastry dropped on the floor outside Pirates. A nearby CM swooped in and swept it up with a glare (before I'd had chance to pick it up and put it in the bin!)

I took some food in with me this week and no one blinked a eye lid. I could of smuggled something dangerous under my buggy and i dont think they would of cared.

Every trip we've been on we've always taken things in to eat - snacks drinks etc. The last time the Cm told us to enjoy our picnic. I've never seen anyone having to remove things during our last three trips.
