We are going for the first time in just a few weeks! Our kids are 12, 6, 6. I'm not too worried about the 12 year old and all the walking, but I didn't really stop to think about the 6 year olds. I was thinking no stroller because they are 6 and I was assuming that there would be less walking in USF and IOA then WDW. Also, we will have Express Pass, so I was thinking we would not be just standing for hours at a time.

Anyhow, I might rethink the stroller. I was also wondering are there places to just sit at USF and IOA? I know Disney had gotten rid of a lot of the good places to just sit and take a break.

Universal has plenty of benches, boulders, etc. to sit and rest throughout both parks. I know because generally I'm looking for them for myself because I'm trying to keep up with the Grandkids, not the other way around. :)

Isn't 6 years old much too old for a stroller, though? We have a stroller with a seat on front and a 2nd kid can stand on the back. They typically started standing on the back at 3, and by 4 they are walking. If I tried to get a 5 year old to sit in a baby stroller, they'd give me the stink-eye.

Yeah, we haven't used one for about a year. (We have used one at the zoo but that is mostly because you can carry your lunch in with you and they also have a splash pad so we carry in swim stuff). We did not use it this summer at KSC or on our cruise. We tried taking a walk around the neighborhood this weekend, and they started complaining!
I don't mind walking slowly and taking breaks, so I am glad to know that there are places to just relax a bit.

I can vouch for the fact that there are lots of benches. We took my parents with us earlier this year. My dad took a lot of bathroom breaks. We found lots of benches to sit on whilst we waited!

Lots of places to take a break. My favorite is the patio at the Hogshead Inn. Bonus is that you can buy all the versions of Butterbeer inside and enjoy it on the patio.

And let's not forget the horror make up show has ac and chairs and animal actors benches so not only do you get to rest can catch a show...you also have the American express and pass holders lounges available

There are loads of benches and places to rest around the parks...….and even better, lots are in the shade....

In Knockturn Alley there are a few benches too if you really need a seat completely out of the heat.....it`s lovely and cool in there.

You`ll have loads of places to rest if you need it.

Also, if you want to sit and relax to just take a moment, normally I sit inside the Discovery Center and lean against the rocks that near the elevator that's next to a dinosaur display. There's other places to sit, but I personally like it, since it's relatively quiet over there and you can kind of lean back on the cool rocks. My dad has taken a lot of little naps there. (This place is at IoA)

Another place is either sitting in the waiting area of Horror Make Up show, or in the area where they exit too. It goes into a hallway and eventually a gift shop. No benches, or anything, but you can sit and lean against the wall. Of course, it's a like a herd when a show let's out, but they leave rather quickly and it's pretty quiet other than that. (This place is at USF)

I know you were curious about benches, but thought I'd share a couple of places that I think of are nice to take a moment and really relax.

I'll miss the stroller when the youngest grows out of it for the same reason. It's a great place to stow all your stuff, sunglasses, flip-flops for water rides, snacks, drinks, refillable popcorn bucket, etc.

The Christmas before my youngest G-kid turns 4, I'm going to have to get my wife a huge purse. She'll never fit all my crap in the tiny thing she carries around. :D

You could get yourself a small backpack. They make manly ones. My DH has used one when we've gone places with the kids without a stroller. (Although I am usually the one who has all the supplies)
