Taking Aero Bed on an Airplane

Have any of you done this? Did you check it? Was it damaged?

I took one on a flight from EWR to LAS a few years ago in my checked bag, it wasn't damaged. Not sure how it would have been.

Depending on how it is packed, I guess it could get punctured etc... I have never done this before and wasn't sure how to pack it.

We took an Aerobed on our last trip. Ours is in the drawstring bag that came with it. We put a set of sheets in with the bed and packed the whole bag in a suitcase with an extra blanket and other things.

I have checked a folding cot with an air mattress in it's own bag, no problems.
