**Editing to add a little more info**

This was at least my 15th trip to the World and my husband's (Larry) first vacation ever - they never took vacations when he was a kid. He had been to a local amusement park before but didn't have a clue what to expect here.

We spent the first 3 nights at The Swan, then we moved to SRR for the remaining 5 nights. When we moved to SSR we started the Deluxe Dining Plan. We decided to splurge since it was our Honeymoon. Also I wanted to vist many resorts so Larry could experience the Christmas decorations.

We have closer shots of each "page" of the menu if you would like to see those.

The wait didn't seem too long, maybe because we were looking around and full of excitement since we just arrived. We were seated at the counter. I've read so much about their burgers here over the years that I just had to try one. Larry went with the Roast Beef Sub. We both had milkshakes.

We have a few pictures of the grill if anyone is interested.

We both enjoyed our picks. The burger would have been better if they had pickles though.

Dinner Saturday night was at Ohana. I have to add here that Larry wanted to ride Splash Mountain again before we took off for dinner - this was to use our Fast Pass after we waited about 90 minutes to ride BTMRR which had a posted wait time of 20 minutes. After we realized how long the line really was we figured we may as well wait it out. When we first got in line for BTMRR I was telling Larry how cool it is to ride it in the dark. By the way, this was his first trip to the World. So just before we were ready to get on the ride I told him he was in luck because he got to ride it in the dark after all. After this ride we rushed over to Splash. This time instead of the last row we got the front row. HUGE mistake for a large woman to be placed in the front. I knew as soon as they said the row number that we would be getting soaked. Sure enough we did. We worked our way over to Ohana soaked.

This actually worked to our advantage. But we were soaked and cold by this point. When we arrived about 10 minutes late they gave us our beeper and we waited. While we waited Larry took tons of pictures.

The wait was worth it because we were seated at a window table with a perfect view of the castle.

The salad was really good. As you can see I forgot to remind Larry to take the picture until we ate a good bit of it.

Dipping sauces

Sticky wings and Pot Stickers - I LOVED the pot stickers and Larry LOVED the wings

Larry says "finger licking good wings."

Noodle bowl - I didn't like it because it was too sweet.

And we didn't take pictures of anything else.

As I said earlier we had a great view of the castle and of the fireworks. It was all I could do to NOT tell Larry that we would have a great view of the fireworks from our table when I finally realized we would still be dining when the fireworks went off. It was magical!

As a surprise I ordered a chocolate cake for dessert for our first Honeymoon dinner.

This was an 8" cake that had to be custom ordered because I'm allergic to eggs. Sadly it looked better than it tasted. Larry didn't think it was too bad but I did. Maybe I was expecting it to be more like a real cake. We should have taken a picture after we cut the cake.

Thank you all for the congrats and nice comments.

No, we did not get married at WDW. We were married at home in a small ceremony in July and waited until December for our Honeymoon to hit cooler weather, hopefully smaller crowds and to see Christmas decorations. I picked the wrong week for our Honeymoon because it was a little too cool for Larry and the parks were pretty busy. But we still had a good time.

Let’s see if I can give you a little more detail about the actual food today. Guess I was too tired last night to give you enough details.

Sunday morning we had breakfast at Fresh at the Dolphin. Sorry but we have no pictures to post of breakfast or dinner today.

We were seated right away when we arrived. The waiter gave us a run down of how their buffet works. We both went to look around and decide what we were going to eat. The juice bar intrigued both of us so we decided to try one of each. They were all surprisingly good. The beet juice was my favorite. I really wish we had taken some pictures. Since I’m allergic to eggs my breakfast items are a little limited but there were enough selections that I was able to have a full breakfast.

I had potatoes that were wonderful, also oatmeal, toast, bacon and a few other small bites here and there. Larry doesn’t eat eggs at home because he won’t bring them in the house because of my allergy. So he got some French toast and an omelet. He said it was the best omelet he had ever had, even though the put spinach in his after asking them not to. If you want toast here at Fresh you have to ask the server to bring it to you. The toast comes out on a plate with a 3-sectioned dish with jellies – strawberry, orange marmalade and another neither of us can recall but may have been grape. We did make notes but can’t seem to find them now that we have unpacked. We would definitely recommend this breakfast.

After breakfast we headed off to the Studios for the day. We were so busy and so full from breakfast that we never even ate lunch.

Dinner was at Cape May this evening. I had read mixed reviews on the boards and wasn’t sure if we should eat there or not. But just before we left someone posted pictures from this buffet and Larry saw their ribs and wanted to go ahead and give it a try. We are both glad we did.

I do not eat seafood or fish but there were plenty of selections for me to enjoy. Sadly they had removed the prime rib by the time we ate here but the beef they have replaced it with was good. It wasn’t prime rib but it was good. Thankfully they still have the horseradish to go with it. The children’s mac & cheese looked so good that I had to try it. It was one of the few things I had two servings of. Their baked chicken was wonderful, very moist and flavorful. The veggie selections were great as well. The only thing I didn’t like was that I didn’t find any salad dressing in the salad section. Larry enjoyed the ribs – ribs are probably his favorite food of all time. They had the best muscles Larry said he has ever had. At first he wasn’t going to try them because he has never really liked them anywhere else, but loved these. We both decided that we would have an after dinner drink. Larry ordered a Bluetini and I can’t remember the name of the one I got but it was a chocolate something. Both were good and Larry liked his glowing ice cube.

After dinner we went to the marina to catch our boat for the IllumiNations cruise. We didn’t eat any of the snacks they provided but our Captain did offer us to take some back to our room. We took back some chips, pretzels and two Cokes.

When we got back to our room at the Swan we had a small bottle of sparkling wine and two wine glasses waiting for us. We were so cold from being out on the boat that we both jumped right in bed and decided to save the wine for Monday night. When Housekeeping came on Monday they refilled the ice bucket again. There was also a note from the staff congratulating us. That was very sweet!

Monday we slept in a little because breakfast at Ohana wasn’t until 10:55. I had tried daily to get an earlier time but there never was one available. We arrived about 25 minutes early and were seated just before our reservation time. While waiting Larry roamed around taking more pictures. Side note – we came home with nearly 2,300 pictures. I’m glad he had such a great time and enjoyed taking so many pictures. We also had our picture taken with their photographer.

Finally our table was ready and we were starving. This was Larry’s first character meal and it was with his favorite character Stitch.

When Larry first saw Stitch he light up like a little kid. It really was magical. It makes me all warm and fuzzy every time I think about it.

When we were seated the waitress went over my allergies and offered to have the chef come out. After a little while we saw the chef roaming around our section and then he went back into the kitchen. This was when we realized he didn’t know which table he was looking for. A little later he finally came up to us and offered to make me some egg-free waffles. Our skillets came out separate so that mine would be completely egg-free. The potatoes were cooked very well and had a great flavor. We were both impressed with the sausages. They had a great taste and weren’t too strong. The waffles they brought me were good as well even though the texture was a little grainy in spots. I couldn't eat the breads or the fruit because of my allergies but they looked good.

Larry said his waffles and eggs were very good.

The juice was very good and not too acidic. I can’t have citrus but I decided to try a little bit of it and really enjoyed it. I drank the entire glass and it didn’t bother me.

After breakfast we were off to Epcot.

Dinner wasn’t until 8 so we decided we needed a little something for lunch. We went to Sunshine Season’s for our lunch because I wanted to try the Roasted Beet Salad so bad. It was delicious. There was just enough dressing on the salad. The nuts were a great contrast to the beets and goat cheese. It was perfect for a light lunch.

Shhh, don’t tell anyone but Larry wasn’t full enough for a full size meal so he was very bad and ordered a kid’s meal. I know, I know. He ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken.

100_2143.jpg

He says it was okay. He got the small chocolate milk to go along with it.

When we stopped by the dessert section to see if we wanted a dessert they gave us two cookies since we were on our Honeymoon. Larry saved them both for later in the day and breakfast the next morning.
