Whew!!!!!!! What a whirlwind these past few weeks have been. I am at my first placement (2nd grade) at student teaching. I am having a blast with the students! It is a great bunch of kids and my co-op teacher is wonderful. I am learning so much, most of it from my own mistakes! ;) ;)

I am disappointed with the amount of time I have to spend on "paperwork" though. My lesson plans must be very formal,(about 15 different criteria for each lesson, no matter how long or short) then all the reflections-reflect on each lesson, then on the day, then on the week. I feel as though I sit in front of this computer all evening. :( I would much rather be talking to my own kids or finding some useful and fun information to pass on to my students on the topic I am teaching. I am going to try to get all my lesson plans done this weekend and free up more time during the week. Any suggestions??

done venting......anyway, just wanted to check in, say hello, and let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth!

Hi Karen!! You're certainly a busy lady these days!! It sounds like you're having a great time though! Something tells me you are a WONDERFUL teacher!! :)

Hey there Karen!! I wish I had some suggestions for you, but I don't. Glad to hear that you are having fun doing the teaching though! Good luck and hope to see you now and then :)

Hi Kim....thanks for the encouragement!!! I can certainly use it!!! It will be so well worth it in the end. :):):)

Jason.....hey ;)

Just keep thinking to yourself I will never have to write these types of lesson plans again! :) I remember being bogged down with all the paperwork. Sounds like you are having a good experience and knowing that your are learning from your own mistakes will make you a wonderful teacher. Hang in there. Student teaching is tough.

It's good to see you here. It sounds like you enjoy teaching. Good luck with those lesson plans.

I remember my student teaching days well! Back in the early 90's, I didnt have a computer to use for my lesson plans so it was all written down in the plan book! Once you have your own classroom, the lesson plans wont need to be so detailed!
Have fun! Its an experience that you will always remember.

HI! Glad to hear from you! Sounds like you have been one very busy lady!

Glad to hear from you, glad you are surviving! It doesn't seem fair that teaching tends to be more paperwork than teaching, does it? I'm afraid it doesn't get any better, but at least you are more your own master, so to speak.
