Taking a newborn to Disneyland! HELP!

Yes we're going to park at the Santa Fe, collect our tickets and go straight there! We're in North Derbyshire so a fairly long journey too.

That's amazing! I live in York so it would cost us atleast double that to get to Dover in the first place!

Are you going to go straight into the park when you get there then?

I live in York too!! Going dlp for first time in 16 days we would have driven but as you said its too far so Eurostar it is for us

We took our wee boy in August when he was around 9 weeks. We stayed at Davy crocketts so we had a fridge as I was expressing milk etc it was fine but the only thing he was allowed on was its a small world. My 2 daughters 4&6 were a little disappointed by this! So we'll just have to back! the baby centres I didn't find great. Small in the studios uncomfy chairs and I as I was breast feeding I did need a wee seat. Also buggys have to be left outside which wava palaver when i wanted to get going and put him in and bags etc but nowhere safe to leave him lying and obviously didnt want to leave him outside while i went back for bags!! I got shouted at for bringing buggy just to door... I could have cried, not easy when youre on your own For changing nappys I just did it in buggy except for once when I went into McDonald's.

We survived though and it was a great trip!

Re name on booking ours just said baby w..... And date of birth was due date and once he arrived I called travel ahem who updated..

We went DD was 6 months and she loved it.

We did quiet a few rides with her Its a small world, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and the storybook ride. We were told she had to be one to go on dumbo (or anything similar Orbitron and Flying carpets in the studio) tea cups, Csey Junior and Buzz Lightyear.

She loved characters and got a lot of attention when we saw them.

We stayed at the Davy Crockett and had access to a microwave to sterilize and a kettle to warm bottles (you can ask for a kettle though at any hotel I think you need to pay a refundable deposit though). Of course if you are breast feeding this wont be a problem.

The baby centres in both parks are great and seem to be the nicest/cleanest toilets inside the park. There are microwaves in there and some where to sit.

Our baby/body carrier was great . Saves having to worry about the pushchair when not on rides and dont have to worry about aching arms if you do decide to wait in a long line for anything.

Push chair was great when watching parade though helped guard a bit of space.

Regarding requesting a room I would just ask for a quiet room.

You aren't aloud to have them on the ride in the carriers its to do with their health and safety. We saw lots of people being told they couldn't use them in December.

Weird! I saw a few people in November using them, on potc and pm in particular!

Heya,

No advice but I can't wait to hear how you get on.

We're probably going to wait to take our baby until she's 1 (if I can be that patient) as I've read DLRP is different to WDW and they aren't allowed on any of the rides until they are 1. And I'd be sad not to take her on Small World and the Storybook Boats and things.

I bet it'll be a wonderful trip though.

They can go on those 2 rides, we took our baby on it. We also took her on Peter Pan and Buzz but then on our last day wasnt allowed to take her back onto them.

You've all been really helpful I think it's hard because as that baby's not here I can't judge whether I'll be breast feeding or bottle feeding, etc! As the baby will be so young I'm going to have to take a sterilizer (if I'm bottle feeding) and think I'll need to use those old fashioned sterilizing tablets(??)

I wasn't sure about rides but thought I'd be ok to go IASW? And then ok to go in attractions like Cinemagique, Animagique and Stich Live, etc?

The other thing I have considered is taking enough nappies and wipes to tide me over but then buying some from the supermarket on the first day, just so they don't take loads of space in my bag? Has anyone done anything similar?

Thanks for all your advice, I think if the baby's bottle feeding pre-made up formula is a great idea, as is taking your own blankets I don't feel as mad now for planning it!

if your not going by car then it will be hassle getting to the supermarket. I know they sold a few things like nappies and wipes at the park but not proper packs and they were very expensive.

You've just reminded me of another of my questions!

Obviously I will be booking before the baby is born too, did you just add your DD onto the booking later?

I booked when I was pregnant for our trip next month and I put her on then, just gave her due date to the lady on the phone .

Weird in December we had to wait for a man to take the carrier off at its a small world and in September same in POTC it is so different with every cm lol

Hi

We took our little boy in nov when he was 7 mths with his 3 year old sister. I took disposable pre- sterilised bottles & the cartons which were great. The bottles fold down really small & saved faffing around with the steriliser when we'd been in the park all day. If youre breast feeding though you wont hace to worry about that! Also, left space in our luggage for gifts. Haha.

We took our daughter who was 5 weeks old.. Mad I know..but had booked disney before I fell pregnant lol.. In all honesty I was working myself up about it ..thinking how am I going to cope but it went brilliantly ...we did stay at dlh so but different to you but I was able to get a kettle and a steriliser ...we did take a million cartoons of baby milk already made up just incase....which we used but if we ran out I'm not sure where we could have gone to get more......
As for the euro tunnel that's what we went on... The only annoying bit is there is no bit to place baby so take it in turns holding, also make sure you take your own pushchair, we nearly didn't as friend of ours said disney had them... Which they do but they more like glamourised chairs with wheels for older children with tired legs, I could not in a million years see how any child under the age of 3 would be comfortable let alone potential sleep in them nappies and wipes can be brought at station shop
