we'll be takingthe kids DSs for the journey (as they are the only thing that keeps them quiet longer than half an hour!) although the battery wont last the whole journey... does anyone know if there are any chargers to take on the flight with us... battery operated perhaps...??:confused3
any suggestions or other ideas to occupy them would be much appreciated!!!;)

if your hireing a car take the car charger with you,and when over there just plug into mains to charge

thanks yeah we will be doing that.
was just for the plane, i know the battery alone wont last the whole journey (plus the airport waiting times too)
i've seen these battery operated chargers, just wondered if anyone has used them and if they are worth buying??

I have one for my ds I got it with earphones and a few other thing for the ds it a small battery pack that plugs in like a charger takes 3 AAA battery's I got mine in Game

try to find a plug socket in airport to make sure its charged up before you fly.

We'll be taking our DS's DS when we go. The battery will last approx 5 hours and I know he won't be too bothered in the airport so by the time he has some food, a quick nap and watches a film it should then be ok for the remainder of the flight. Otherwise we'll have books and puzzle books hopefully to keep him amused just in case te battery does go.

You might be able to extend the battery by reducing the brightness of the screen and turning the volume right down

I have one of those battery things but not tried it yet.

I did have one similar for my ipod though, and that gave pretty good extra power!

My daughter has one of the battery backups but I am pretty sure that even though she took it on the flight she didn't need it.
As has already been said once food and a film are out of the way she only played on it for a few hours and there was plenty of power left.

i have one of those R4 cards with a load of games and movies on them so i know the kids will use it for most if not all of the journey thats why i'd like the battery pack ... just incase!

When we flew with continental in January they actually had a plug socket under the seat for people with laptops etc - you just needed your adapter plug that you would use over there, we charged our netbook with it and it was fine. I would ask your airline if they have this facility. :)

now THAT would be good!
we are flying with airtours i think... will need to check that out... thank you:idea:

We have those as well. :thumbsup2
Much more convenient than dragging x amount of games around with us.
