Taking a Canadair Express Jet...HELP!

All mileage plus seats were taken last March '04 from Newark to Orlando for Jersey week this November. We had to book a layover in Dulles....which is no big deal. But, the kicker is that I checked my flight# and the aircraft shows it to be some kind of a commuter express plane with a passenger capacity of 50!! I really don't like flying to begin with.

Has anyone flew in a jet this size? Will I be able to feel the bumps more? Should I be worried:scratchin

Help!

The Canadair Express Jet is a beautiful new plane. It is a jet, and has more legroom than your standard 737. If you are taller than about 6'2" you may need to duck, as the height is a bit lower than the jets you are probably used to. But it is a very comfortable plane to fly in. So are you on USAir or perhaps you got one of those great Independence Air flights?

These are very comfortable jets to fly. I've flown them about 6 times. Delta flys them from Greensboro, NC to Orlando. They are smooth for a plane that size and have amply leg room. I'm 6'3" and was as comfortable as one can be on a plane. You will not have any problems.

The set-up is two seats on each side with center isle.

I got the flight out of Newark to Washington through United airlines using my miles. And even though I was hestitate to book this, it was my only option. Flights that week are going for $550 during Jersey Week and all miles plus members booked this past January for a November trip and took up all the non stop flight.
Thanks for your replies!

i am not a great fan of flying--love getting there faster, but hate the actual trip. I love the CRJ--love the extra leg and hip room. Very smooth flight, never a wait for luggage. There is only one attendant, but the whole plane gets served so quickly. I actually prefer these to bigger planes now. I'm riding in an Embraer jet next week for the first time-hope I like it as well.

Generally speaking "size doesn't matter!"

The CRJ is a smaller "regional" jet but that should make little or no difference when it comes to the "bumpiness" of a flight.

Bumps are caused by turbulence and the bigger the plane does not guarantee a smoother ride.

The seating is two by two. Previous posters have said the legroom is greater. Personally, I think it's about the same if not a little worse. There is usually 1 flight attendant per flight but the size of the plane does not require any more. The passenger windows could be a little higher and if you like to look out the window, expect a sore neck by the end of the flight.

The engines are located on the back of the fuselage and since they are of the newer generation engines, provide a nice quiet flight.

From a pilots perspective it is a great plane to fly because it has state of the art avionics.

It's a great plane, enjoy the flight.

Uh,

I've flown on 4 CRJ's this summer wiht Northwest and the seats are uncomfortable, small and no leg room.

I fly out of a small regional airport, so that's all there is.

I was rading on seatguru.com that are two types of CRJ's.
