We will have a backpack with us at the park--standard "college" size--that I will want to take with me on the rides. For the big thrill rides (TOT, Space and Splash Mountain etc) we will be doing "kid swap" so it won't be a problem but I am wondering if there is room under our feet on things like Buzz Lightyear, Pooh, Barnstormer, Test Track etc...

I know that many people just leave the bag in the stroller but I am very parinoid and also it will have stuff to keep kids occupied in line if necessary so I want to be able to just keep it with me as much as possible. If I leave it in the stroller I will stress over it and not be able to relax and enjoy myself!

I take my backpack on all the rides and always manage to find a spot for it. Sometimes I put my leg thru the strap if it's on the floor and might fall out. (the backpack that is, not my leg LOL)

I have never had anyone mess with our stroller or take anything from it, but I know what you mean - I do have it on the back of my mind.

Most rides (that I can remember) have enough room for a backpack. It may be a tight squeeze though (like on Barnstormer).

I also put my leg through a strap - like previous poster.

No one has ever touched anything I have left in the stroller, but I agree, I feel the same way sometimes...I have taken a backpack with me on rides before and have never had a problem either...There is usually room on the floor, as mentioned, or between me and my child...:)

I take my backpack on every ride. On RNR I put my leg through the strap and it works out great.

I just posted the same question. Did any of you that brought your backpacks on the rides with you had cameras and camcorders in them? No damage?

No damage to camcorder or digital camera at all, and it doesn't even have a case when it's in my backpack. There is normally plenty of room. You'll be more concerned with the effort of carrying the backpack around than where to put it LOL!

We always carry the backpack with us. We do have a small bag (ziploc) of things like sunscreen, bandaids, etc. that we leave in the stroller and only carry the important stuff in the backpack.

Admittedly we take a fairly small backpack, but I've worn it a couple of times round my front while I'm on rides and then switched it round to my back as soon as I'm off and it's been fine.

we also take a small backpack for the sunscreen, digital camera, park maps and whatnot...we have taken it on every ride with us and not had a problem with it...for the "thrill" rides, just put your leg thru the strap as mentioned above and you will be alright...just be aware that if you take it on kali river rapids, that the center section of the raft WILL NOT keep your backpack dry so plan accordingly....
have a great time!!!

We always carry a pack......never had an issue of not enough room - except maybe on Kali River Rapids, when the inner *storage* space gets filled up.....

I took a backpack with me a couple of times and it seemed to be more of a bother. I also put on my front when I was on rides and then switched it back when I got off, but I quickly got tired of it. My hubby carried it one day. But after that I said forget it - it's not worth it. I just kept my camera and stuff in my fanny pack.

This is a little beside the point, but I recently read an article about a So.Amer. doctor who got a serious head injury while riding on Space Mtn a few years ago...One of the possible causes was something falling out of another car when it passed above his. CMs who have been interviewed reportedly said that they find things on the floor of SM almost daily (even cameras & camcorders). So, a word of caution, especially on the thrill rides --- Make sure anything you're wearing or have with you is secured!

We always carry a backpack and we have never had a problem with any ride. There has always been room to put it at our feet or somewhere suitable where it was out of our way and everyone elses way as well. DH usually carried it on the thrill rides and I know he just put his feet through the straps and never had a problem with anything breaking.

We always take the backpack on, slipping it over a leg. We are not small people, yet never find this to be a problem. Several years ago we did have a backpack stolen out of our stroller at Disneyland. We thought it was no risk (really worn looking, and only contained diapering supplies). I'll bet that thief was pretty disappointed! Now, we take everything along, even things that aren't valuable can make your day very inconvenient if lost!!

We always take our camera and camcorder on all the rides in there cases. Last May while on BTMRR I just about lost our camcorder though. I like to put my hands in the air on coasters and the camcorder strap slipped off of my shoulder. I caught in the nick of time with the it completely outside the car. That got my attention to say the least. I have carried it on all of the rides without incident other than this ......well, there was the time that my DS left it on Buzz Lightyear.....but thats another story...

We usually leave the backpack in the stroller, but keep our valuables in a fanny pack or shorts pocket. I have found there is usually enough room at my feet for a bag and I either leg-loop or step on the strap to keep it in place.
