Taking a 6 yr old girl for 1st visit to WDW....

Ok, a friend of mine is taking her 6 yr old daughter to Disney for the first time in March. They are staying at the AKL in a Dlx Savannah Room. They have Cinderella's Storybook Celebration Dinner scheduled for 1 night. She asked me what other things must they do to make this the ultimate experience for her. I've made a few suggestions but afraid I'm missing out on some things. With 5 days doing the Dream Maker pkg, what MUST SEE AND DO things would you suggest for each park. She is WAY into the Princesses. What rides at each park? Parades? Right now they do not have a breakfast schd but are thinking about Chef's Mickey. Can't get Cinderlla's brkfst.
Any ideas?

There is a princess breakfast in EPCOT in the Norway Pavillion. They can try to get ressies for that.

My DD (6) really loved all the 3-d shows in each park, especially Mickey's Philharmagic.

There is a Princess Tea party at the Grand Floridian (i think). They serve tea, food and each girl present gets a doll dressed like one of the princesses.

I will post more as I think of it. My mind is a little hazy....we are leaving in less than 10 days, I'm a little preoccupied.

Princess Tea or WOnderland Tea Party at the Grand FLoridian, my dds (7 and 5) also loved the Pirate Cruise. THere is also a Grand Adventures in Cooking at GF. At the parks don't miss Toontown - they have a character meet. MK also Belle's Fairytale Garden is nice. I would second trying to get a Princess in Norway breakfast if you can't get CRT.

We've had the Norway breakfast, and I can tell you that it is very good. However, my kids didn't particularly like the standard offerings, so we asked what else we could have. Don't be afraid to ask for substitute items - they'll pretty much fix whatever you want!

If the Princess Tea Party is too steep - isn't it around $200??? - then opt for the other Grand Adventures at the Grand Floridian. My son loves the Pirate Cruise, and there are always girls on the boat! I would think the cooking adventure and smaller tea party would also be excellent choices!

Yes, the Wonderland Tea Party featuring Alice and the Mad Hatter is about $28 and is at 1:30 daily. Not sure if the Land Pavilion will be open by March, but you could try to book the Ice Cream Social for her at the Garden Grill Restaurant at the Land Pavilion. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale usually come dressed in overalls, and pose for photos with you. They each come to your table. How about waking up Tinkerbelle at Tinkerbelle's Treasures store just behind the castle? You have to be the first one in the store at 9 a.m. Otherwise, take her over to the chest of drawers in the store, on the right wall, and peek inside the keyhole. She'll get a nice surprise. Don't miss Voyage of the Little Mermaid at MGM as well as Beauty and the Beast show onstage near Tower of Terror. If she's that much into the Princesses, make sure she has time to shop at the Tinkerbelle toy store behind the castle for those oh so important Princess clothes! Oh, yes, when you go to Epcot, don't miss the Living Seas Pavilion. The entire place has been redone to capture the popularity of Finding Nemo. There's a great interactive session with "Crush" the sea turtle that cannot be missed. She'll love it.

WOW! Thank you so much for all these great ideas!! I especially like the idea of seeing Tinkerbell @ Tink's Treasures. I'm not sure they could be there at 9am but I'll certainly mention it. What about Animal Kingdom -- what do ya'll think is a MUST do? I liked the Safari and Kali River Rapids. Is Pochantis still at AK? Pls keep the ideas coming!

Things may have changed since we were there in Sept, but my dd4 loves princesses too so here is some princess stuff for you to do:

MK - Storytime with Belle - runs many times a day. Belle reads the B&TB story to the audience & picks audience members to help. If your friend asks the CM she can probably be in it. You have to be assertive!! Cindy's Surprise Celebration out in front of the castle - also runs many times a day. It is awesome & features MANY princesses & princes as well as other well known characters. Cinderella's carousel - in Fantasyland. Ariel's Grotto - Little Mermaid hangs out here. Toontown - There was an entire room with princesses doing meet & greets. I think it was across from Donalds Boat but you can ask a CM. The parades feature princesses, as does Wishes to an extent (Tink flies off the castle).

EPCOT - PSB in Norway was great but hard to get in to. BUT all the princesses were in their respective countries & NO ONE Was around them so we had tons of interaction with them. The times guide even lists when certain characters will be in their countries. I also saw a lot of vendors selling make your own crown stuff.

MGM - Fantasmic features princesses. B&TB show is awesome, as is VotLM.

AK - My dd feels Pocohontas is a princess so she likes the Animal show (to me it is boring). If you really stretch the whole princess theme I guess you can say Princess Atta is a princess & watch ITTBAB too!!

My dd got a bunch of pins to trade for all princess pins which was really fun! Dh & I got in to pin trading too. We came home with 16 princess pins!!! And some penny presses feature princess too. We also made sure to get pics & autographs of all the princesses we saw. It is very cute to see how they sign their names!!!

If you go to Harmony Barber Shop they can put pixie dust in your hair so you feel like a princess!!

DD got lots of t-shirts that had princess characters on them that she wore daily!! It was too hot to wear her real costumes so that was the next best thing! Oh yeah, she also had a name badge from laughingplacestore.com that had princesses on it & her name engraved on it so everyone called her Princess Abby!!

Oh, yes! I forgot!!! And somebody else please help with the phone number. There is a number you can call to arrange for a Disney Princess' voice to speak to a child. There are several subjects to choose from and you get to choose not only the Princess, but the time of day for the phone call and you have a 40 second delay to make sure the child is available. We did this recently and it was so cute. We arranged for Cinderella to call our neice on the morning of our trip. She talked about travel and how much she loved it. It was so much fun to see a little face light up in recognition of the voice. Unfortunately I can't find the number now! But, I know others on this forum have used it. Can somebody help? This is not to be mistaken for the "Mickey wake up call" at the resorts. This is a pre-arranged call you pay $2.00 for at home.

Make sure they go in the different countries in Epcot. In France you find Belle and the Beast (sometimes Aurora)and in Morroco, there is Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie. And in China you find Mulan. United Kingdom has Mary Poppins and snow White. We saw the most princesses at Epcot rather than Magic Kingdom. Most of them we saw 2 or 3 times.
