DD really wants to go and watch WALL-E, I've tried to explain that it won't be out for me to buy for a while and that we can go watch it on a big television at the cinema if she wants to, which she replied "yes yes" :rotfl:

Anyone ever taken a nearly 3 year old to the Cinema? Is it a disaster waiting to happen :lmao: will people complain? Or shall i just wait til it comes out on dvd. I think it be a nice little day out for us if we do go.

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated :goodvibes

some cinemas actually hold mum and baby/toddler screenings so this may be a thought but I took my son from an early age and he was always great, I just made sure he had a drink and some snacks and he loved it. Our daughter on the other hand has just turned 2 and we really want to take her to see Wall E next weekend and I'm a bit worried if she'll sit that long, knowing our little one she'll want to dance in the aisle !! I'd say if you can't find a toddler screening where any behaviour goes I'd perhaps go early on a Saturday or Sunday morning when it may not be as busy and the ticket prices are a bit cheaper in case you need to leave but you never know, she may be fine ... good luck xx

They don't do mother and toddler screenings around here, which is pretty useless. Maybe going to a early morning screening will be best. Kyra is pretty good when it comes to watching films and im sure as long as she has a fruit juice in one hand and popcorn in the other she will be more than happy...well i hope :lmao:

I'm sure she'll love it especially as it will be a new experience. Good luck and enjoy :)

A friend of mine took her 3 y/o to see WallE - they live in the States and she said that he was fine, he is also Autistic so they were expecting more of a challenge but she said he was great - they went to a morning showing and there were lots of other little ones in the cinema too.

I am sure you will all have agreat time!

Just from my point of view... OH and I always go to the cinema on sunday mornings for the early showing BECAUSE it is quiet and you are less likely to have kids / teenagers / irritating groups that chat through the film...

I say take her to a mid-morning showing where there will be lots of other families who I'm sure will understand if your DD gets distracted / is a bit lively.

Hope you have a great time :thumbsup2

The Odeon & Cineworld do Kids club or equivalent, a kids film is shown on a Saturday/Sunday morning. However it is never a brand new release.

We went to see a late showing of Ratatouille at the cinema & some parents thought it would be a good idea to bring there very young children who kicked off crying for most of the film, the dad did absolutly nothing. I haven't got a problem with children going to the cinema but don't go to late showings when they are likely to be tired:rolleyes:

I have heard WallE is pretty long so it may be worth looking into how long it is before you do take her!

If she will happily sit and watch a DVD through she should be absolutely fine going to the cinema :goodvibes

Kyra can easily sit through lots of Disney films quote happily. So hopefully she will be ok.

My son is 2 1/2 and we decided against taking him to this. I am sure he would sit still for 30 mins but the rest ......who know's......

Let us know how you get on :)

I would go for it personally if she's pretty good with watching films at home, I think on a weekend and at a kid's film especially people are going to expect that it might not be a totally undisturbed film! I have to say though: Me and my bf went to see Prince Caspian recently and there was a little lad who looked about 3 and he said in silence through the entire film, totally engrossed! I was really impressed, don't think I was so well behaved at that age :rotfl:

Hi Emma,
We're wondering the same thing. I would like all of us to go see Wall:e next weekend when it comes out and DH is up for it too.
Anna is 5 and has been to the cinema twice and was okay but can take or leave TV. Poppy is 3 in 10 wks and loves tv, dvd's etc. She really takes in all the little details in a Disney film and shes the one begging to go see it.
I think as others sugest we will go early with drinks and popcorn, and the promise of Pizza Express afterwards should keep them happy too.

Good luck:goodvibes

Take her!

she wants to watch it
its her 1st time? if so she will be mesmerised
its the school hols- cinema is filled with kids, the teenagers will be noisier!

my son started going to the cinema at the age of 2 and he loves it.
have fun and enjoy this 1st :goodvibes

My mum is now coming with us aswell, so a extra pair of hands will help.

Decided to go to a late morning showing aswell, im really excited.

Glad you have decided to take your DD!:goodvibes
We are going next Sat, can't wait:banana:

You know your DD better than anyone and if you say she sits and watches dvd's then she'll be fine.

We took our DS on his 2nd birthday last year to see Ratatouille and he happily sat and watched the whole film, then yesterday we went to see Kung Fu Panda and he was the same again, had his drink and snacks and was totally fine!

Saying that there was quite a few young children in yesterday, and they all seemed to behave!

i took my just 3 year old to see this on sat , we had advance tickets and i had to take him out at the begining , its very loud and noisy and dark at the start with a lot of bangs, he was scared, i was able to take him back in when he calmed down but he got bored and started chatting near the end, its quite a long film, i wouldnt reccomend it for a first trip, this wasnt even his 1st time at the cinema hes been about 4-5 times before and ive not taken him out yet., till saturday!

I think Kyra will be ok, she can sit through 3 disney films in a row without getting restless.

She's a little film buff lol.

sounds like my little one, today we have had Monsters Inc, Snow White and Enchanted ... she just loves them all :) We're going to take her to the cinema for the first time next weekend to see Wall E so I'm hoping with enough juice and snacks and the new experience she'll enjoy it but if not we'll come out and wait for the dvd ;) let us know how Kyra gets on xx
