Hi. I have 2 DD's ages 6 and almost 2. My husband is in Iraq, and I want this year to be filled with wonderful experiences for me and my 2 daughters. As a family, we visited DW in July (hot, too many people, bleh, never doing that again)... and I want a easy-going, mild-temperatured visit with my girls. The problem is that I love rides (Splash Mountain, Space Mountain... etc.) AND so does my 6 y.o. DD. Is there anything I can do with my littlest one while me and her big sister go on a couple "big people" rides? When my husband and I went as a family, we'd switch off on who got to go on a ride.

I just need some guidance and advice. Thanks in advance!

Susan

Hi and welcome to the DIS! :wave2:

I've been without DH and brought my two DDs 3 times now. For us its a different kind of trip that is dictated by our younger DD who is afraid of many rides (although she was much braver this year). They are now 7 and 10...but our first time was when they were 5 and 8.

Unfortunately, with such a young DD and no adult to watch her, you probably have to avoid the rides she can't go on.

But being at Disney at all, even missing a couple of rides, is still very magical.

Maybe you can make up for the missed rides by doing some other girly magical things like eating in the Castle or doing Bibbity Bobbity Boutique (sp?).

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for your reply. I was contemplating on getting a babysitter for 1 of our 4 days for the little one. Do you or anyone (maybe I'll search the posts of post a new one for myself) know of any trusted babysitting companies?

And question, what is Bibbity Bobbity Boutique?

Sorry I don't know anything about the babysitting.

You can read HERE about the Boutique in Downtown Disney in the World of Disney Store.

There's also the Princess Tea Party at the GF but its expensive and there's the Alice Tea Party at the GF but I think your yonger DD is too young for both.

Awesome, thanks. You've been such a help. I'm starting to think, rides or no rides, this will be great. Thanks for your input!
